Nicky Maynard is a class act but he is going and that's what he wants, anybody that wants to leave us, just let them go and we move on,the club is worth more and is bigger than the player.

    Thanks Nicky,now piss off...

Nowhere near consistent enough for the premier league. Yes he will always score the odd wonder goal but quite simply he misses too many easy chances...

Great clips about a great player who perhaps has lost his way.

I wish he would stay and become focused again but perhaps a move will suit all.

Thanks Nicky, the good times are worth remembering for ever.

Without doubt Nicky is one of the most talented strikers to grace ashtongate for many seasons. Probably since Andy Cole. Right now he has had his turned and has lost his motivation and passion, which in turn has effected his performance. If and its a massive if Nicky could get his head right he will score goals wherever he plays in whichever league that may be. But right now its effecting the whole team either sign or go make a desicion Nicky before you completely ruin this season.

I doubt if its much to do with Maynard, its to do with the most influential people in football, his agent, these are the people that put the thoughts into players minds, making them think they are going to hit the big time, so sign a new contract, get your form back, and maybe, just maybe, you will hit the big time, with us.

He has already made his decision and made it public.

He wont be signing another contract and will be leaving to pursue his career elsewhere, (his words, not mine!)

    Seems pretty unequivocal to me!

How anyone can possibly interpret Nicky's words other than "I don't want to be here" is beyond my comprehension. Loud and clear in my opinion!

Wizered's last sentence echoes my sentiments exactly and for goodness sake let's move on.

I have to slightly disagree with some comments on here I don't actually see NM as that good a striker? (I'll wait for the abuse?) but scoring record wise even if you look at Leroy Lita, his record was app 1 goal every 2.7 games whereas NMs is app 1 goal every 2.8 games.(that's for city) I'm not advocating the return of Leroy far from it, but NM does seem to miss the target quite often. I thought a really good striker was one that scored off scraps as well as tap in and the sectacular ones.
I do however agree that it's time for him to go so lets give BP a run.

    Alandicks - spot on

Redexile - also spot on. Maynard is a decent Championship player but is seriously deluded if he thinks he'll be a mega star in the Prem

Sorry have to disagree with all......Quality striker and if had the proper service would and will get goals for fun...
Don't forget most of his goals was his doing, out of nothing and on many occassions has kept us out certain relegation.
Won't be happy to see him go unlike others on here...such a shame we always manage to lose the better players and hang on to the dross..
I understand that he wants to fulfill his ambitions and play at the highest level....Who wouldn't.

Thank you Nicky, for me I'm sorry to see you go

i dont think maynard thinks he will be a mega star in the prem, he just wants to see if he can make the step up to the prem, he will never know staying with us, so he wants to do whats best for him, but it could of been done a lot better than how it has been done

We will all be sorry to see him go! but go he will, and while I feel he isn't giving his all I would prefer it was sooner rather than later, then its not a massive elephant in the room for us all.

i have been advocating a larger money transfer up til now, believing NM to be a better player now than when we signed him for 2.25m, but as of now I am prepared to be swayed into the 'lets get it done' state and will happily take as little as 1.5m or £750k plus Simon Cox.

Why you disagreeing with all, looks like only one person thinks he's not a quality striker, and in respect of you not being happy to see him go, i would think the vast majority of city fans aren't happy to see him go, but he wants to go, so not much anyone can do about it is there.

Onefor, AD is correct in what he says, Nicky wants to move on & better himself, I have no problem with that at all. I too will be disappointed to see him move on, but he's moving on, end of story. Best of luck NM!!!

Went to Brighton last week and i thought Maynard did not look interested, did not work hard enough and at the end of the game went down the tunnel without so much as a wave to the 2,000 fans that paid hard earned money to see our so called star player who wants out of the club put in an effortless performance like that,if he wants out off our club i would have thought he would have tried to put in a good effort to put himself in the shop window, its the 20th today and as far as i know has anyone come in for him???????????
