It is rumoured that nicky Maynard of BCFC will in January 2012 sign A NEW CONTRACT...this will end all speculation his will he wont he....
If this is true then it would show a lack of ambition on his part or he just isn't good enough for the Prem and no one is really that intersted apart from Championship clubs.
Not really Mangadoogas Its just a reflection of our law, that you cant just help yourself to somebody else's property. And as for ambition, that is precisely why he would stay, because we are heading towards the top, whereas the Fulhams and Boltons of this world are living on the edge.
No, it just shows that it would be a clever move by the club....as we all know a contract isn't worth the paper it's written on nowadays. What it means is, that if he continues to do well and a prem club wants him then they will just have to show their money....which would mean we would get a good price for him... This couse of action must be Alien for the likes of your club scrapping in League 2!!!!
Here is a source..... http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-ne...ll-onl...Bit more positive *****Here is a copy......***** ' Nicky Maynard will only leave Bristol City for an instant crack at the Premier League. The in-form City striker, who has scored three goals in his past four matches, is out of contract at the end of the season. New manager Derek McInnes is desperate to keep Maynard at the club and another round of contract talks are planned soon. Everton and Fulham are rumoured to be interested in the 24-year-old and his head could be turned by interest from the Premier League. But talkSPORT understands if the Premier League pair fail to step up their interest, Maynard is happy to extend his stay at Bristol City in the hope he can reach the top flight with them. Championship rivals also have an eye on the situation but Maynard is willing to snub the chance to move elsewhere in the division. And McInnes hopes to have a resolution to the situation, saying: "As long as he is happy, scoring goals and sees us progressing, he would sign [for us]. "I want to work with players of his quality so hopefully we can sort something." '
I have been saying for ages that I believe that given the right man in charge, NM will re-sign with a decent release clause that will benefit the club so no one is left feeling hard done by. After all, he is settled here, has just had a kid and likes it here. If a decent prem club comes in then sobeit but otherwise...
I can't see him signing - surely its in his interest to see what pans out in the next couple of months?
My thoughts are that NM will hold off signing right up to the end of the season. I recon we'll get a few offers in for him in January, but unless its a reasonable Prem side (not a struggler) he won't be interested. He will stay with us and see how well we do. He MAY then sign, but only IF we manage to make the playoffs and IF no 'decent' Prem side show interest and IF there is a 'getout' clause allowing him to go to a Prem side should one come knocking. He won't go to another NPC club - he is settled here in Bristol.
I've just consulted the crystal ball. He'll sign with a get out clause as suggested by Prem. 'but unless its a reasonable Prem side (not a struggler) he won't be interested' - If he can get £40kplus a week, he won't care a toss which struggler he plays for. Wouldn't blame him either.
Not sure about this RP - of course you could be right, but I have a feeling that NM is more concerned with reaching the highest level, rather than simply earning money. If he went to a struggling prem side that late in the season he'd end up straight back in the NPC.
