According to an agent on twitter, Nicky Maynard is on his way to Leeds on loan for the season. Weve agreed with West Ham to pay 60% of his 16k a weeks wages. He can play out on the right/up front or on the left in a 4-3-3 Hopefully this type of move will show some top attacking threats. - Apologies if somebody has raised this question already.
Apparently weve been in talks several weeks with him over a perm switch, but because of the takeover issues weve not been able to afford him. So a loan deal is on the cards. He'd be an awesome signing - At the moment we have nobody to pressure in any positions at all
Hope it happens. As usual nothing much to get excited about this season yet. I still have a lingering doubt though, if hes not good enough for a poor west ham, how much will he bring to our party?
i thought before his move to west ham, i felt he was the best clinical finisher in the division! And if he came to us, it'd to put the fear in some of these so called big outfits of the championship
This would be a quality signing and a statement of intent. Much more exiting than Green or Varney in any case!!!
CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN: Before anyone else gets over excited about this player possibly coming to Leeds, can anyone give an actual official report that we have even met with Maynard or that he is of any interest to Leeds United? I am aware of some bloke pushing out pish about Maynard coming to Leeds over various Leeds forums, but there is no official stuff and no actual source. Anything on Twitter is not classed as official as it is about as much good as the crap posted on Wikipedia. I would suggest that it is more likely that a player of less ability than Maynard may well be coming to us, but we will just have to wait and see.
So your saying you don't trust the information regarding players on wikipedia.... What do you need to convince you
I hope they are wide players, a creative midfielder and a striker. Maybe Maynard on Loan up top - I would like to see us get Hogan Ephraim from QPR on loan too to give us some more creativity in the middle. As for the wide players - couldnt name examples but there must be a couple of young wingers from PRem league sides who would be happy to play in front of our lot week in week out.
