He claimed when dismissed we were two players short of a promotion side. Pity he forgot to mention he had the other nine all playing out of position
I think it was more to do with his tactics and man management skills as opposed to the players' ability, although we could still do with shifting 3 or 4 and bringing in a few players with pace and flair. Claiming Drury was the best left back in the Championship upon signing and then playing Peltier there
To be fair to him, I've read his best seller "How to be a success in football management" it's a great read. Chapter 1 - Defence, oy you stop the coont, make him av it ffs Chapter 2 - Tactics, ffs wot you doin with it,m fooking liump it up onto his hed, dont fanny around with it. Chapter 3 - Media, fooking refs was bastard blind and i'm sick of that red nosed twat getting a penalty everytime we fookin play em. How many fooking minutes extra time? did we av to carry on playing until they fooking scored ... Chapter 4 - Team selection, right you wots your name/ ok your playing right back. and who's that behind you in the car park? Ok tell him he's on the wing this week, doesnt matter which fooking wing does it thick coont. Chapter 5 - Responsibility, fook off it wasn't my fault and if them useless bastards had done wot I told em we would be top of the league na Great read from a well respected tactictian and mentor to every manager in football. Sadly missed at ER this season, but we can see the benefits now of what the great man started
Wasn't Drury injured for a while Kiwi, which was why Peltier was playing there? If so, doen't explain why White, a naturally left footed play, wasn't playing there. Like it Doc. All needs to be said with a thick Sheffield accent to appreciate the full bollo% level!!
As you say, if he was injured, why wasn't White playing? Or even Pugh? Peltier was a nightmare at LB, we could all see it. And if Drury was fit (which he certainly was at times during the season, but was still overlooked) you have to ask Warnock where is the logic in playing Peltier ahead of Drury, regardless of whether Peltier is your captain or not.
The logic would have been to play Byram at RM with Peltier at RB, & White or Pugh at LB. All in all, Colin just hadn't got a clue.
Makes you realise we missed an opportunity when Bates was promoted to President, that NW was not made Senior Director of Football. Its pretty clear BM needs a bit of help, like Moyes and SAF at scum, no doubt.
