Folks I have just completed a tour of night shifts down here over the last few days and spoken to several contacts I have at Anfield and I can tell you now, the word is...the powers that be are not at all impressed with young Henderson. It was widley debated last week on Radio City (which you can take with a pinch of salt to be honest) that the lad wasnt up to 'Liverpool standard'. But what is more significant is that rumours are flying down here that they may be about to release him in the near future as there is a belief that theyve payed well over the odds for the lad.People Ive spoken to in my proffesson with close contacts at the club, have all confirmed the rumour. That although its LFCs policy to allow youngsters to develop, he was bought for immediate action, and that his performances at the mo are not up to scratch. His playing position has been widley discussed also..but this rather worrying rumour is still flying around.

Lets see what happens....now remember folks dont shoot the messanger !!! Only passing on what I am hearing down here.

    Interesting.

Rumours were rife on the radio last night that Walter Smith is being lined up to take over from Bruce.

I jest not, the 3 bell ends & TalkShite mentioned it.

And furthermore, he is second favourite next to Steve Keane to get the boot next with a lot of bookies.

Makes you wonder if KING KEN knows whats what, after all the price was inflated but the player remained the same,he obviously saw him at Sunderland and liked what he saw.Could the same apply to Carrol.

Sad if true, I was never in the Hendo is world class camp but he is a good lad and I would have him back here, just not an automatic first choice. With the players we now have he could be used better and who knows.

I wouldn't want Henderson back if we were offered him for 3 million... Not because the lad isn't worth that amount because he probably is. It's because we couldn't make our mind up whether he was more suited to the centre or the right wing ourselves and the endless debates about whether Henderson was good enough or not were even more infuriating than the ongoing Bruce in/Bruce out debate.

It would appear asthough nothing has changed at his new club, the fans are still divided, or possibly more bemused than divided, the fans still cannot determine whether he is a centre mid or a winger and his confidence would be absolutely shot to pieces if he were to return to Sunderland with his tail between his legs. Henderson is a confidence player and an experience of this magnitude could have a crushing effect on his outlook for a number of years and I just know that Bruce would have his name first on the teamsheet no matter what. I hope the kid does well for himself but I really wouldn't want to see him return to Sunderland under just about any circumstances.

I wouldn't pay anymore than £4m for him to be honest. He'd only be on the bench as well, he never impressed me in the middle so would need to settle for a place behind Larsson. Good excuse to get rid of the Egyptian Kevin Kilbane though.

Nowt wrong with a battle for a place between Larsson and Henderson, they'd thrive on it..

    Then there's injuries and bans...

Can you tell, i was one of the few who really rated him? so maybe a bit biased.

Hopefully Dalgleish will give the lad a chance, after all look how long they gave Lucas and Kuyt.

He is a decent prospect, but the fee we got for him from Liverpool was fantastic business by Bruce et al.

I rated him very highly on the right in his first season but once alot of fans thought he was Pele his confidence dropped massively and he struggled to cut it in his 2nd season.

Possibly a mental thing as he never turned up in big games as well. Would also explain why he's struggled at Liverpool saying as they are a massive club with a global spotlight on them unlike us who are never thought of south of Peterlee.

I think if we're honest Jordan was always overpriced but a cracking deal for the club.

Can we say that we have missed him?

I don't think so, as much as I like the lad.

I just could never see what all the fuss was about with Henderson to be honest.

If he came back, he wouldnt be in my first 11.

I watched him for Liverpool a few weeks ago and he played off the front man and his vision looked excellent and he could pick a pass - he's an attacking midfielder IMO!

I was one who was happy with the money but the lad has ability - and I think he has Liverpool ability - but I also think Liverpool are very over-rated - spent £60+m on majority average PL players (Suarez excluded)
