Perhaps Bates has realized his tight arced approach to promotion over the past two seasons won't work. No investment coupled with an inexperienced manager, no chance. He has solved one part of the problem by replacing Grayson with Warnock. It would be pointless having got one of the best men at winning promotion to the premiership on board, to continue to starve the club of investment. I'm therefore hopeful we will see some decent transfers in the summer and this time in rather than out. Might also have a good chance of keeping our better players with the new regime. heres hoping anyway

Our it could simply be a smokescreen making it look like he's showing ambition?

Just saying as you never know with Coco because otherwise why the sudden change of mind as he's a stubborn ****er which we all know only too well <doh>

I'm with Steve on this one. Ulterior Motive are his middle names.

Why do you think Warnock has a clause in place that he can walk away, it is because even he doubts Bates will deliver. Don't be surprised if we are in search of a new manager come the end of the season when 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice targets are turned down by the board. Bates had the golden opportunity last season when we were in the play off spots to strengthen the squad, he didn't take it.

When it comes to the crunch Coco wants promotion the cheapest way possible much like Wenger wants to win trophies the cheapest way possible <ok>

Warnock's speciality is getting clubs promoted on shoe-string budgets. Work it out.

Go figure as they say but he did help bang up a £70m debt in the process but a lot of that debt was there before Warnock took over at QPHaha.

They didn't spend millions on transfers tbf but just got a load of loan players in on big wages. <ok>
