Perhaps Bates has realized his tight arced approach to promotion over the past two seasons won't work. No investment coupled with an inexperienced manager, no chance. He has solved one part of the problem by replacing Grayson with Warnock. It would be pointless having got one of the best men at winning promotion to the premiership on board, to continue to starve the club of investment. I'm therefore hopeful we will see some decent transfers in the summer and this time in rather than out. Why do you think Warnock has a clause in place that he can walk away, it is because even he doubts Bates will deliver. Don't be surprised if we are in search of a new manager come the end of the season when 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice targets are turned down by the board. Bates had the golden opportunity last season when we were in the play off spots to strengthen the squad, he didn't take it.
