    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...w-forms-newcastle-transfer-plan-2285776.html?

Good news? The Independent don't have much of a bad reputation when it comes to making up rumors or referring to "sources".

In other news, it is being widely reported that we are in the running for Demba Ba.

Sounds good to me! Pardew wants better next year. Better than midtable = europe. Must be confident of getting some decent players! <ok>

He has been saying all the right things about transfers over the summer but it all depends upon MA

Independent is usually a good source for info, don't usually report stuff unless they have a good level of proof in it. Seriously hoping we dont get this clown Cole.

MA will make more money if we are in Europe, and to do that he needs to invest.

I think he's been working hard on transfers since we've clinched premier league status from all of his quotes.

Also I know we're linked to everyone under the sun every window but the majority of players we've actually been linked to so far are all promising (or obsqure Frenchies).

Thank **** for the Carlton Cole talk. Did you see his miss at the weekend. Sol Campbell could have finished that.

My grandma could have finished it, without her walking stick and after a bottle of wine!

I was like this at first and I still am to some extent, but I do like how he handles himself with the press and he seems passionate enough when hes on the touchline.

Next season will probably be the decider for me, trusting him for the moment.

He got offered a big job to manage a big club with a large contract and wages. What did you expect him to do? He's human and he was hardly mates with Hughton was he?

It's just the real world, and sometimes it isn't all nicey nice. Pardew saw an opportunity and took it. If he refused the job because he thought it was unfair on Hughton, then frankly he would have been a mug.

I highly doubt it. Yes it would have played a factor and put Pardew in the spotlight, but Ashley is running a multi-million pound business here in the club, so he's going to appoint someone as manager who can do the job. That will always become well before friendship. Pardew's credentials, experience and plans would have been considered first. And I personally don't think they're mates anyway. Acquaintances at best I reckon.

You're just making that up though. We have no idea if he knew Carroll would be sold, and the idea of selling our best players year after year is just plucked out of thin air. It's hardly something you can base your argument on, is it?

Again, you're just making that up. They were rumours, and there's nothing which confirms he took the job a month beforehand. Nothing at all. And as I said, it's a business and it's a job for Pardew. No one in their right mind would turn down such a massive, massive job because they don't want to act slightly immoral against a stranger.

"No, I don't want the opportunity to manage one of the biggest clubs in the UK with a large contract. What if it upsets Hughton?"

He'd make a mug out of himself. Tough but the truth.

If we're gonna like or hate Pardew, let's look at the facts and what he's done so far instead of just making up a bunch of ideas about him. If they turn out to be true, then fair enough. But right now they have absolutely no basis.

I wrote a whole ton in reply to you chappaz, but i've decided to delete it as the fact is Pardew is our manager now. I don't wanna continue raking over old ground. I have expressed my opinions above and in a comment below and thats that :)

Even so Llambias does the day to day running of the club and i don't think it's coincidence they hire a manager with such an uninspiring record as Pardew. My main worry is that pardew won't push for the money to be spent. You pay peanuts you get monkeys...
