He has been 1st rate through this whole saga. The board have kept their heads, not rushed any decisions and their patience has paid off. Nice to be continually reminded we are in safe hands
Well done to all. I think common sense has prevailed I'll drink to that. Time to get that malt out Dave
Supers (or anyone else that thinks they might be able to answer this), if Lambert could not persuade DM to offer a new contract (assuming he did actually try) what has changed? Was it really Lambert that told Holt he was too old perhaps and not DM after all? or is Chris Hughton a far better negotiator of people the PL ever was?
so since hughton took over we've signed two players, one of which is one of the best prospects in england, and he's got four key players, including our skipper to sign a new deal, even after he wanted to leave (when lambert was still here remember!). not a bad start i suppose...
no, i think it was mcnally who holt had the issue with re: the age thing. hughton, as we are continuously told, is an excellent man-manager and certainly the vibes i'd heard, holt was set to leave, so we have to give hughton credit here but also mcnally who i think must have budged in some way for this outcome to be reached
It is true that this is what was being said about CH and this little episode goes some way to proving it - I wanted Hughton in when Lambchops buggered off to Villa and the guy has just sky rocketed in my estimations this evening. A little sense of excitement about the forthcoming season is beginning to return
