Quite clear, "I WANT TO STAY AT LEEDS UNITED FOR MANY YEARS."
Brilliant news from the player, sadly means nowt to Bates, he just wants a high bid and he's off or else he will spend next season in the reserves and have Bates slatting him in the media.

As much as I know you want to blame Bates for everything, you could possibly change that to: "I WANT TO STAY AT LEEDS UNITED FOR MANY YEARS ON THE WAGES I WANT OR ELSE I'M OFF".

Actually can I just point out now that that quote was from before the end of the season.

i know that quote was before the end of the season but if it is true then bloody sign a contract or sell him, 2 options, do not let him go next season for nothing, it will be a waste

Why do you keep saying this, what do you think Bates will do with lets say £4 million?? Listen Josh selling Gradel for 4 million doesn't mean we will see a flood of quality signings, two so far this season both on a free. Reports on Lonergran for between £200k and £300k that is still over a million short on what we sold Kasper for and let us not forget the wage bill has already been slashed.

even if we get half of that on transfers can you not see that keeping a player that doesnt want to play for you is stupid

I disagree, if a player wants to leave when his contract is up he will continue to play well in order to attract the attention of others, look at Beckford in his last season.

We keep Gradel until Christmas, we look at if we have a chance of promotion or not then consider getting something for him. Okay we might get zero but you really are living in cuckoo land if you believe Grayson will be handed the proceeds to spend on players.

maybe i am living in cuckoo land, im not convinced that he will get that money but i would prefer us sell him for 5m now than wait until jan and sell him for 2m coz its our last chance to get money for him or even let him go for nothing. I would prefer the club get the money regardless of whether he decides to spend that on players, elland road or thorp arch or whatever

I think you massively overrate Max Gradel in truth, he is overpriced and we should take advantage of that

it has been made clear that any transfer fee for any player does not get pumped back into the team. Not only have we not seen any signings coming in for transfer fees, we've had a number of players turn us down on wage matters, which means the money isn't even being spent offering higher wages. That money for Kasper, assuming it was about a mill like we heard, could have paid to sign a player on a 2 year contract on wages 10k a week higher than the wage structure allows.
