All over the net as confirmed now, just nothing on the offy, which as we all know is the last place to break the news. MailOnline Sport @MailSport 8 mins8 minutes ago BREAKING: Mauro Zarate completes a loan move from West Ham to QPR.
Just as reports of Zarate's loan deal completed are on Twitter... Sorry this should be on the Pato thread...
Praise the Lord, l'm going to church on Sunday to offer my thanks for finally getting another striker in! Then l'm going to confession .......... ( Note - hope l haven't offended anyone with my comments and please note that no animals were injured in the making of this post )
Good news. Better still if he can bang a few goals away too. Let's be positive and believe that the Austin / Zarate partnership will become the envy of the lower half of the PL. Perhaps they can provide a new road map (A- Z?) for goal scoring success.
A big thanks should go out to West Ham for screwing up their signing of Zarate. Will be a big asset for us. Imo a better player than Vargas.
Yes. He's apparently been training with the squad and should play a role on Saturday. I'm hoping that he can form a new partnership with Vargas. It will give us something different from the Austin and Zamora combo who make us a bit predictable and one dimensional. A 'Plan B' kinda thing if you like, which we haven't had so far.
PUBLISHED 12:30 6th January 2015 by @QPRFC R’s clinch loan signing of West Ham United attacker Mauro Zarate ... QPR have completed the loan signing of West Ham United front-man Mauro Zarate. The 27 year-old attacker has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the 2014/15 season at Loftus Road and is in line to make his R’s debut against Burnley in the Barclays Premier League this weekend. A gifted forward, Zarate arrives in W12 following a frustrating time at the Boleyn Ground, where he's been used sparingly by Hammers boss Sam Allardyce following his summer arrival, scoring two goals in eight appearances. Last season, however, he enjoyed a prolific campaign in Argentina, where he finished as leading scorer in the Primera Division Torneo Final with 13 goals in 19 appearances for Vélez Sársfield, and 20 in 35 in all competitions. R’s boss Harry Redknapp expressed his delight at the arrival of the Hammers striker, commenting: “We’re really pleased to bring Mauro in. He’s a good footballer, someone with great ability who can play as a number 10. “I first saw him when he was on loan at Birmingham quite a few years back and I actually tried to take him to Portsmouth back then. “He’s a more-than capable player, he’s already shown that, and hopefully he can come in here and do well for us.” Zarate, who impressed in the Premier League during a loan spell at Birmingham City in 2008, is relishing the opportunity to prove his worth once again in the biggest and best league in the world. “I am happy,” he said. “I need this, I need to play and Queens Park Rangers have given me this chance to show what I can do. The Premier League is the best in the world at this moment. Does my style suit the Premier League? Maybe. We will see! “When I met the manager he told me he wanted to sign me for Portsmouth before, but in that moment I went to Lazio. But now I am here and will play for him. “I will try to do different things with the ball, some skills to make the difference for the team, for me and for the other players. I am fit and I hope I can be involved on Saturday.” Zarate will wear squad number 29. Under the terms of the loan deal, Zarate will not be eligible to feature against the Hammers when the two clubs meet in the Premier League at Loftus Road on Saturday 25th April. I'm liking the way we are doing things, a loan with purchase option at the end of the season. Try before you buy, and hopefully the other positive that comes with doing business this way is he will have to prove himself. I'm happy with this!
I still think we should get another striker. But I think we also need an attacking midfielder, too. CAM.
I'm very pleased that we have a new goalscorer on our books at least till season's end, so who should we thank for this job well done? Harry? Beard? Les? Glenn?
Excellant news. We finally sign another striker who scores goals regulary for every club he's played for. Lets hope he links up well with everyone and takes the pressure of chazza.
