I have always quite liked him, but he pretty much plays all the time for Bolton so unsure why he would consider being a back up for Matty?

He was pretty much pushed out of the starting XI for bolton last season by Petrov, so it's no surprise he wants a move. But I doubt he'd want to move from being their back up to our back up.

He can also play midfield lads, I would sign him up. Don't forget we used Rory on the wing last season and, it doesn't work for us or Rory.

He'd be a good squad player for sure but I cannot see Pulis using him for left back, he's decent in that position but not that great.

Skysports.com understands that Stoke are lining up a move for Bolton's Matt Taylor.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is keen to improve his options down the left side and has targeted Taylor as a possible addition.

The 29-year-old has the versatility to play at left-back or left midfield and has eight years of Premier League experience under his belt.

And Pulis is hoping he can secure the services of Taylor for a cut-price fee as he has just a year left on his contract at Bolton.

Taylor joined the Trotters from Portsmouth in January 2008 for a fee believed to be around £4 million.

The former Luton man has gone on to score 23 league goals in 123 appearances for Bolton, making 22 league starts last term, despite competition from Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov.
