My take a 10 minute cameo here and there does not do a NO 9 striker any confidence what so ever.

Wasted talent by Bristol City the guy scores goals.

If Afobe had stayed fit he wouldn't even have made our bench

Afobe this and that!!! He is a Stoke player. Says it all about Bristol City forward options of people think a loanee is the best up top for City.

Except only 4 sides have scored more than us and only 6 sides have conceded more but yeah lets blame the strikers.

eh?? our number one forward is a loan. think about how well that is planned. if he was injured and he is ?? his replacement was?? nobody. a loan has showed up how thin the forward options are.

Still think that the forward issue is a bit of a red herring! As Loathsneyd said, only 4 teams have scored more than City and of those, QPR, Preston and Leeds have only scored just ONE goal more than us!! It's only WBA that have streaked ahead of the rest on the number of goals scored.

Whilst it would be nice to have more striking options, we have to stop opponents at the other end!! We have to be more savvi when it come to defending!!

How many players do you want? Its not like he was a Short term loan. We still have cover for that position

this is the key defending we need to win 21 games minimum and draw no more than 10 in a season as a target … 21 minimum should always be the starting point that's 63 points and will be a mid table finish that means scoring at least a minimum of 21 goals without conceding... or [ for the pedantic couple on here ] have scored at least 21 more than the opposition!
It doesn't matter how many we lose by [ save if GD comes into it ] in the 15 we could lose, if drawing 10 games what matters is we do not let teams score more than us on at least 31 games!
Having said that it never clever to concede loads as the results will mostly be negative .. our defense currently needs some adhesion … NO Kalas or Da Silva probably doesn't help ….

I liked Taylor, although he never really performed when starting he always gave us something extra with his cameo appearances, made us look a lot better on the pitch as he would be the only player running around creating space which looking at the last two home games we did absolutely nothing, no movement off the ball and very slow which I have no doubt Marty Taylor would have improved us on the pitch if he was here

Taylor is too similar to Weimann, runs channels well, but is not really lethal in front of goal. Weimann is much better than Taylor, hence he went out on loan as we didn't need 2 players in that mould. We needed an Afobe, unfortunately, that went tits up at an early stage.

I would expect a player to be able to play similarly as cover when the squad is so large. famara is not cover, poor control and movement.

A question could be who do would you rather have in the team Afobe or Diedhiou?

Some may say both. But if its Afobe that leaves a question about the strength of the squad and recruitment. Mr Johnson clearly favoured Afobe.

I've never said that Fammy is as good as Afobe but a striker who has a 1:3 goal ratio at Championship level was suitable cover for him. You can't legislate for someone being injured for the season. Well you can but it would mean that if he didn't get injured for the season then you would have someone upset for not getting any game time. Hopefully we will pick up another decent striker this window and Fammy will go back as cover
