Matty played quite well in the Cup final and indeed seemed a yard quicker than I recalled - either that or Koscielny is slower than I had imagined <laugh> ... but the signings of Jelavic and Long by Bruce in the transfer window say it all ... Matty will not be a first choice striker ... not the worst 'back-up' mind ...

I'd say that at this stage, Nugent and Fryatt are about equal (maybe Nuge edges it). We need to strengthen. I don't see much point in signing players that won't improve the team.

I'd agree ... Nuge is more creative ...

This was in our local paper yesterday, ours said his prefared option was signing a new deal but it also said about the emotional attachment he has to you so what this space i guess....

I wouldn't bring him back personally. He did very well for us especially in League 1 but we have both moved on now

They say 'never go back' i think this could be a prime example of that, like you say it would probably be a sidewards step and not forward for you. I personally want him to stay with us, he's actually had a better season than most of you will probably realise (thats not a dig i just mean as you haven't seen him play really)

There's no need for him to move, he won't get more game time here.

If I were him I'd move to a club like Derby. Play a good brand of football and make loads of chances. Even Chris Martin scored 20 for them this season.

IMO i still don't think Matty Fryatt is good enough to be a perm striker, he proved for Sheffield Wednesday he is still more then handy in the championship but I think he lacks a yard of pace or enough of a strikers instinct inside the box.

Very good footballer and when on form a good finisher but I think we need to be looking elsewhere for a striker

Never go back. Pearson? Was Fryatt not Hulls top scorer last term? As I recall he wasn't the best at one on ones but for me more clinical than Nugent

Fryatt was really their top scorer last season?

All i remember was him scoring a few goals in the cup and at Man U. Shane Long bring a lot to the team and he scores his fair share but he really does need to score a few more, while Jelavic other then his first 6 months at Everton he has never really impressed me

Fryatt barely played for us in the Premier League, he only made ten appearances and almost all were sub appearances. Though his performances as Man United and in the FA Cup final would suggest he probably deserved more game time.

Fryatt will score 12 goals for the team he plays for in the prem next season.

A crazy, bold prediction from me there.

I remember the original pic that avatar is based on. It was from a story on the BBC website but, as I recall, it wasn't about Fryatt but another player! Good old BBC.
