I have heard from my very reliable source (Chopra, Cresswell and Inga) that Matt Upson is being targeted from Wet Sham on a 3 year deal. I know it sounds crazy but stranger things have happened! The boy is from Suffolk and knows the club well. He would be a brilliant signing for us and as he wasn't even on the bench for Wet Sham today there could be real legs to this story. His wages may be a stumbling block but we need a quality centre back and I am sure that we can dig a little deeper for him to come here.

I think Upson would be a good call for town. He's fallen out with WH heirarchy and whilst he's no longer Prem class he's good enough to help get you there.
I'd love it if this was true, Matty Upson would be a great player at the back for us. It does seem unlikely, but as you said, stranger things have happened!
They all laughed at Christopher Colombus when he said the world was round! They all laughed when Edison recorded sound! All I'm saying is that he is a local lad who is surplus to requirements at West Ham and he would do a fantastic job for us! He lives in Suffolk and signing him would send out a clear message that our club is ambitious! Its so hard being a visionary on here!
TBH JWM, it is all over the footy rumour site and you did also proclaim that Sharp/Whitts were deffo joining. Still it may just turn out true but i wouldn't rely on your reliable source (footy rumour site)
Indeed he is Svendust, wasn't going to nitpick. I believe that players are generally entitled to wages up to the end of July if he doesn't have a club - which means if he was on a big contract he'd want to wait until now before taking a pay cut.
I'm not sure it was his destiny to get injured in the first match of the season! Poor luck for Doncaster though.
