Eastleigh have confirmed the loan signing of Portsmouth striker Matt Tubbs. The 31-year-old has joined the Spitfires on a deal until the end of the season. Tubbs could be handed his Eastleigh debut in the National League game at Kidderminster on Tuesday. Ex-Bournemouth striker Tubbs has scored five goals for League Two side Portsmouth this season but he has not featured for Pompey since October. Well, there you are then ! Our chance of goals to secure promotion gone for the season Still, at least we have got Michael Smith.........
Gotta say that is a big surprise - we've wasted a proven goalscorer this season - and we don't get many - really surprised at this move.
I'm very surprised and some-what disappointed as I too rate Tubbs and was excited when he signed him. He hasn't featured since October and I wonder if there is some-thing between him and the boss. Our loss is Eastleigh's gain and he could score goals that see them providing us with a local derby next season if we don't go up!
like some other players w ehave signed for me he has not really cut it fully.........some good games but more bad games for me
Give him the right service - i.e. Jed Wallace last season - and he will score goals. He is a natural goalscorer/poacher.
