New man Matt Taylor says promotion this coming season has to be the aim. He said: "My priority is to get back into the Football League. I feel I've established myself in the Conference and the next step is to get into League Two. That is why I've signed for Bristol Rovers and promotion at the first time of asking has to be the aim, no matter how difficult that might be. I came through the youth ranks at Oxford and signed a professional contract. But they let me go a year later and I want to prove myself. Oxford and Luton Town have managed to get back into the League and Bristol Rovers are just as big a club. I'm confident this is the right club to take me to the next level." Taken from the Post http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Promot...vers-signing/story-21246395-detail/story.html He scored 19 goals last season, 13 for FGR (and according to FGR fans on another forum, Taylor was played out of position as well) and he scored 6 in 7 games on loan to Chester (in his correct position). Dont sound bad to me. The more I read about him the more I like!
He'll fit in well with the gas then ;-) Does sound promising. I get the feeling DC wanted to bring him in last season but was unable to do so.
