After scoring two goals against Liverpool this afternoon, will Brendan Rogers take a punt on Oldham number 9 Matt Smith during the transfer window?

I mean, Liverpool could do with a big bustling centre-forward....

    Right?

Well I doubt he would start every game for us, but maybe he could do a job against certain opponents as a plan B, as well as chip in with some useful clearances on set pieces (which we currently have problems with)... :emoticon-0112-wonde

Physically dominant, but no real skill or talent. Glad he got injured to be honest.

Had a good game but he did have a few naughty tackles! Certainly sticks his elbow in <whistle>

Can't say I like the second part of this comment. Really shouldn't wish that on someone!

He killed us today though, soooooo 40 mil pound bid should do the trick. <ok>

At least you wouldn't have to splash out £35 million on him.

Sorry, I meant I'm glad he went off because he was winning everything in the air and our defenders couldn't cope with him <ok>

Anyway lads, as a loyal Newcastle United supporter for over 40 years, it is sometimes nice to see other clubs knocked out by the minnows.

But WE are the experts at it <ok>

Sadly, we've become used to it <steam>

I did think you'd get the equaliser at the end, Gerrard hitting the bar, a few goalmouth scrambles. Just not your day.

    It wasn't.

    Didn't deserve to be though.

Yes, I think Liverpool fans are honest about the football they watch.

How do you think the rest of the season will go, you are seven points off the top four. Your league form is good of late, can you close the gap over the rest of the season?

    No personally.

We win a game well and everyone gets excited.

We lose one and everyone crashes into depression.

Think we'll be 6th. What about you lot? Not been a good run has it?

If only you could play Norwich every week

As for us, talk about closing the door after the horse has bolted :steam: we've signed four French players in the past seven days when we all know the recruitment should have been done last summer.

We've a six-pointer at Villa Park on Tuesday....pray for us lads, pray for us

    That is a big game!

In a way its a dangerous time to play Villa as their pride has been damanged.

Think you'll stay up - but i'm not convinced on your manager. Seems like he's lost control a little.

  18. Strange as it sounds, I think Villa need to go down to progress <ok>

Bet you Newcastle fans would love revenge at Villa Park for that result 3 or 4 years ago when they sent you down.

Yeah, and we've also had the huge distraction of our captain (Coloccini) wanting away.

This could only happen at my club <grr>

Have you ever been to St James Park, mate?

I've been to Anfield twice and lost both times (which isn't a suprise giving that our record there is ****e)
