He's been excellent under Ramsey and has demonstrated (not that it was needed) what a poor manager Redknapp is now to have got so little out of him. Obviously not good enough for a top four side but if we go down he could be a bargain for a West Brom, Stoke, West Ham etc. Proper winger- very athletic, good cross, tall and a decent work-rate. Pulis was interested in January supposedly.
Man management has been a huge problem at QPR this season. How does a team with talented attackers like Phillips, Vargas, Hoilett and Taraabt with a scorer like Austin end up in a relegation battle. Granted defence isn't much, but Isla and Caulker are not too bad. And isn't it you who have Robert Green playign ahead of Alex McCarthy, who was outstanding for Reading afew years ago.
Redknapp sold our only proper right-back (Simpson) when he elected to play 3-5-2 in August. He scrapped that after two games leaving us with no real right-back and either Yun (potential but inexperienced) or Hill (war horse but not really a left-back and too old) on the other side. Isla can't defend for toffee but is decent going forward and is really a wing-back or wide midfielder. Caulker has had some good games but seems to have been woefully coached as his concentration is abysmal. With Hill in the middle nursing him through the game he generally does ok but Sunday was well above par for him though Drogba was pretty awful. Hoilett has been awful for years- not much more to add there. Taarabt, your guess is as good as mine but never seems to be fit and has done next to nothing when given a chance. Vargas can be very good but has been unlucky with injuries and generally asked to play wide, partly due to the deficiencies in Redknapp's squad meaning square pegs put into round holes. Green divides opinion but I think he's been our second best player this season after Austin. McCarthy is ideal for us next season whichever division we're in. I think he was expected to play more but green's form has kept him out. Sounds a bit silly for a team that has conceded 60 goals or whatever it is but he's been at fault for very few.
Nothing about this season. Hoilett has been useless in his 3 years at the Club and Taraabt has been just as bad in the last four, regardless of the Managers. The other players you mention are decent
Whatever the last few years have delivered, you played a tough and direct game against us and were dead stiff not to get a point.
