Matt over the last couple of years has slowly eroded my opinion of him from fantastic footballer all be it lazy to a complete bitter Pratt , he has never forgiven Cortese beating him to control of the club and going on his comments and behaviour can you imagine him as our chairman ? Wish he would stop his bile so I can remember him for his talent on the pitch

Both. Absolute legend in terms of what he did for us on the field, but I really struggle to tolerate him off it. Been bitching about everything to do with the club for years. And his son is a top class ****er.

That was exactly what I was going to say. Legend on the pitch, bellend in the studio.

He's not a bellend, just can't get that chip off his shoulder re Cortese. I don't take too much notice. At best he's just a Saints fan now, and at worst, a negative angle for the press to press him about our club.

Good memories though. Always a legend.

Tiss will always be a legend for his football, but he (innocently) nearly dragged us into disaster. Cortese wouldn't pay ex-players as ambassadors unless they could show it was value for money...so MLT felt marginalised. There was also some incident with Benali and his house. Tiss has taken it to mean that Cortese cares nothing about our history. There may be other things that we know nothing about, but I cannot see why Tiss can't see the good that Nicola has done. He is blinkered on this. However, he obviously still loves the club and is teased on Sky about always referring to Saints as 'we'.

I don't particularly pay attention, he's entitled to think what he likes, the difficulty is that his views get reported as the overwhelming fan opinion, in reality they are no better informed than yours or mine.

Legend. For me this was always and still is based on his performance on the pitch. His spat with Cortese is a bit childish but then again I never knew anything about his personality when he was a player.

If Le Tis was behaving like the way he is now when he was a player, although I don't think he was, i'd still say he was a legend, albeit a tempormental one.

Legend on the pitch... Off the pitch who's company would you prefer? Le Tiss or Cortese.. Not a bellend, just a pundit with a bias to our club!

He was restrained on Sky yesterday. Disappointed and afraid it was a mistake (like most of us), but didn't seek to make capital and put Merse in his place (sadly, not a concrete overcoat).

Yeah, he's both. Have to agree with Fran that when he's on TV he seems quite restrained and positive, but sadly seems to give journalists the quotes they want away from the studio.

Agree with most of the others that he is both but the problem is that any news story regarding Saints, MLT is always the first point of reference for the media.
That doesn't help our standing on a lot of occasions because of his attitude towards NC

He is the greates player to ever wear the shirt, total legend.
Why is he a bellend for being banned from the club he showed so much loyalty towards?
He has every right to speak his mind considering how our moron chairman has treated him.
Most people owe him an apology, considering most of the stuff he has said about Cortese is coming out to be true.

Hummmm.......well it's a tricky one. Of course a legend for Saints on the pitch, but clearly has a gripe with the current regime. However, remember that the press know this too, so desperately seek him for a rent-a-quote whenever something that could be perceivably negative happens at the club. He, like many, many of us would do in his position, then finds it very hard to hide his personal feelings, which is precisely what they want.

For what it's worth, on every occasion I've met him or had anything to do with him, he's always been very pleasant, free with his time and very intelligent, enjoyable company.

As has been mentioned above, there's no reason why he - or anyone - can't be both.

It's uncanny how similar that is to Balotelli.
