Town are being linked with Blackpool Keeper Matt Gilks as a direct replacement for Henderson. Allardyce will only let us keep Henderson if we have a 24 Hour recall clause put into any further loan deal and Mick isn't having any of it and who can blame him! Cant see why Gilks would want to leave Blackpool or why Blackpool would want to get rid of their number 1 keeper in all honesty. Would be happy if it was true though.
Not really seen enough to judge the guy but apparently won lots of awards at the club when they were in the PL. I'm not a fan of keeping Henderson tbh, he's done okay but IMO not really of any better quality than Loach who is our own. So unless we can get a much better quality player in I don't see the point. Think a slightly more experienced GK could improve us especially as we have a young defence. I see a club have made an enquiry about Sunderland GK Kieron Westwood, would be a very good signing at this level IMO!!!
Only saw gilks in prem and was impressed. If its true then he can't do any worse than previous incumbents.
Sentimentality wants me to see Loach given a run but if he's not as good as Gilks then I would welcome him with open arms. We must always try to improve.
