Does anyone else think he should apologize for telling the RE to be quiet after scoring today?
Along with PS telling us he may move the club out of Medway do I feel inclined to renew my three season tickets ......mmmmmmmm <grr>

I think Matt Fish has nothing to apologise for he is entitled to what ever celebration he chooses.

All I would say is despite his goal and the proceeding celebration, he would not have touched the turf today and would still not touch the Priestfield turf if I was selecting the team.

I thought he improved today after a bit of a nervous half. The entire ground was getting on his back pretty early on and booing our own players so early on isn't going to help anyone other than the opposition. I don't know how he ended up where he was for the goal though!

p.s. I don't care how he celebrates as long as he scores at the right end.

I think Matt Fish is not a defender, he is much stronger going forward, but Evans is more of a player than he is.

the guy gets a lot of grief from fans given he was never brought here to be a first choice right back and is still young. hess brought him here (cheaply) to learn his trade in the football league for the first time but due to injuries he has been force to make the steep up a lot sooner than expected and personally i think the fans got on his back very early in the season and he has been nervous ever since. not saying that hes my first choice right back or the best at the club but i think hes got the rough end of the stick given the situation he has found himself in!!

Unfortunately I have to say he did and he was heading right in my direction <laugh>

Seriously though I would never boo or abuse the guy. An opinion is an opinion and nothing more in how we personally rate players. We pay our ticket we make our choice.

He put in a good shift today but I counted three misplaced passes from him in the first half all greeted with a groan yet this was only about half the failiure rate of most of the other Gills players. It is one thing to get on the back of an established pro like Lawrence/Frampton/Lee etc but quite another to pick on a junior who has only just gone full time pro at the age of 22. In many ways he is less experienced than the kids who have appeared this season and whatever faults he might have he looks the fastest and most mobile player on the books Gills have got to find some pace from somewhere and he offers it.

    Agreed
The performance of Fish reached the dizzy heights of almost reasonable - against a team that should probably been out of sight before half time ( if they could head properly ) Fish had a reasonable 2nd half -- because we were going forward. His distribution in the first half was very poor.

Quite True but you don't expect one of your own payers to disrespect the home crowd. I don't think I have ever seen an example of that before. Not sure what to make of it.....seems wrong to me. Of course there have been sections of the crowd that have not been kind to him but it seems a strange way to try to win them over.
PS IMO His performance was poor as usual.

Born Again - I think Keds did the same thing to the Rainham End during a goal celebration, so when I saw him doing it, I just felt it was a copycat of that.

Was not to impressed with some of the stuff coming from the fans today, some that rarely show but when they do start getting vocal, the only trouble with all seater stadiums it becomes difficult to move away from them. It does not happen often near me but when it does it gets tiresome.

I know what you mean. If they let us have terraces back Priestfield is plenty big enough me thinks

brb - you should have come over to my 'shed' - no bigots today ( mind you the Gills police liaison officer was there in plain clothes )

I am certainly getting less tolerant as I get older! Generally there entitled to be vocal, just don't give me a headache in the process.

btw - slightly off topic, want to apologise to Berni, could not drop in to the Blues Rock for a drink after the game. My son needed to get back by 6pm and I did not know that until on our way to the game.

I just find it slightly hypocritical when fans think they have the right to give a player some grief but yet moan like little girls when they get the same treatment in return. But then again like Born Again I think it is a slightly odd situation when it does occur and certainly doesn't sit well with me

That was probably me... I was fairly vocal in my annoyance with the Fishman's distribution at times.. Medway Stand lower Block F row H (don't normally sit around there).

For a split second thought he was going to me for his goal celebration...
