So the fact that Chelsea LFC have been losing International players to teams like Lincoln due to Chelsea not offering professional contracts, or Beard doing well and asking for more money and being told Pee off it's only women's football, and losing the four of five games before the five week break had nothing to do with it? Then we appoint a highly rated coach as manager, Emma Hayes ex-arse assistant and esteemed coach while in the US (who's league is defunct therefore everyone over buggered off over there is now on the earhole for jobs and want to come scrambling back). I think we should be told the true state of affairs and not have to swallow the official faux sounding edicts.
It's a shame this development. We need to decide if we want to be in this Comp or not. The cost of Pro Contracts, even semi pro contracts for our Ladies team would not pay the petrol bill for the mens cars. If the men donated 1% of their annual salaries,there would be enough to fund the Ladies.
I dont think until the Olympic games Womens football was taken that seriously by the majority of footie fans! I must say I see it far more positively now! With CTV there are lots of opportunities to watch if and they cover it well in the Chelsea Mag! I shall pay more attention in future!
Reading that jaffakop between the lines it seems my assessment was right in one respect. Beard expected reward for what he did with Chelsea Ladies and when the board wouldn't cough up he pulled his ace out and made the move to Pool, where I'm sure he had already sounded out their position before he asked Chelsea for a wage rise. I bet he is on more at Pool.
