My third attempt at an answer below (highlight to reveal to avoid spoilers): 6x = 30 (therefore x = 5) 2y + 2x = 20 (therefore 2y = 10 therefore y= 5) 4z + y = 13 (therefore 4z = 8, z = 2) x + ((y+2z+2x)*z) [note order of operations] = 5 +((5+4+10)*2) = 5+(19*2) = 5+38=43
