I am posting this as a separate thread as there seems to be a rumour developing that MV may go.... on loan .... or ?

Reading between the lines in Flores interview in the WO.... it appears that MV is not at all happy at the mo. Seems he does not currently fit into the team formation etc...

    http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ts_to_leave_it_s_important_to_open_the_door_/

he has been a great player and personality for us and I believe a great asset in the prem. There have been postings elsewhere as to the somewhat one dimensional play we seem to be developing and MV clearly provides options and has also teamed up well with TD in the past.

Letting him go in my view would not be good news

    added:

Nottingham Forest have enquired about signing Vydra on loan, but Sanchez Flores is yet to decide whether he is prepared to allow the 23-year-old Czech to leave, raising the possibility of another forward joining the club before then.

"We didn't make an official decision in the case of Vydra," said Sanchez Flores. "We wait a little bit more to decide, maybe three or four days. It depends on a lot of things, a lot of things can change.

"Always the players want to play. Sometimes players who are not playing, their passion is not so big. The league is very long and you need to have the patience to wait for the opportunity. Some players can wait for a long time, some want to leave.

"Players are sometimes looking for other options and we respect the ideas of the players. We know the brain sometimes has the idea to change and look for other clubs. I respect that. The final decision is on the club.

"If players move, from Watford, more players will come in to use this position. We have to wait as it is only speculation now.

"[Vydra] has different qualities and I watch him in training every day, but we take a decision on him soon

His agent is probably asking questions about the lack of playing time but then a move to Forest probably doesn't interest Vydra..

Somebody said FF might go to them but they don't seem so sure:

We have these guys on long term contracts (and Angella) so must have keeping them in mind..

I do hope we keep him.... I think the coach perhaps needs to consider tactical switches mid -game which of course Joka was very good at...
Even TD looks lonely for periods of the game under the current preferred formation

With Forestieri seemingly on the way out and Vydra potentially we seem to be suddenly a bit shy of strikers. In the current formation only Deeney has the skillset to play in the single striker role. Early days but hopefully there will be a bit more flexibility and I would definitely keep Vydra around as he is proven to link up well with Deeney.

Do we have any evidence that Fessi is going? Again he can add something to the game... when channeled ...

He would have been ideal to put on last week. He had a point to prove and would have been nicely wound up; I could not understand putting Berghuis on and not Vydra. He at least deserved the opportunity; a good tactical chance missed I believe.

    Wobby:

If Matej Vydra and Watford FC had a Facebook relationship status then yesterday it would have changed. It would now read: It’s complicated.
But how did it get to this point? And so quickly. Yes, Vydra didn’t feature in the Hornets’ opening two Premier League fixtures but that’s hardly reason to hastily end a relationship that took three years to make official.

On July 1 it was announced the Czech Republic striker had signed a five-year deal with the Hornets after joining the club permanently from Udinese.

He had previously spent two seasons on loan at Vicarage Road but, finally, he was a Watford player.

“I call this my team,” the 23-year-old said this summer. He was feeling settled.

Once pre-season began an obvious problem arose. Quique Sanchez Flores adopted a 4-2-3-1 formation. It is a system that doesn’t suit Vydra in the slightest.

He isn’t built to play as a lone striker and was ineffective when used out wide during his one season stay at West Bromwich Albion. Where would he fit in?

If Vydra is frustrated then fair enough. He is desperate to play, we’re told. Enter Nottingham Forest.

Perhaps sensing Vydra would be unhappy after being left on the bench they approached Watford and enquired as to whether the Hornets were willing to loan out the striker. Take a short break from the relationship, if you will.

Forest were met with a firm no from Watford. It’s a position sources told us this morning the Golden Boys maintain. At this moment they are not willing to let Vydra leave. He is firmly in club’s plans.

Flores may have said yesterday he wouldn’t stand in the way of players who want to depart but, ultimately, he doesn’t have the final decision. He is only part of a committee which decides transfers.

So Watford don’t want Vydra to go. And - according to his outspoken agent, who as usual wasted little time in talking to the press - Vydra doesn’t want to leave Watford.

The man Vydra has to impress then is Flores. It isn’t the first time he has been charged with proving a head coach wrong. He did it with Slavisa Jokanovic last season and eventually earned the Serbian’s trust.

It won’t be easy, especially as his first-team chances appear limited. But if Vydra can prove to Flores that he deserves a place in the starting XI then there is no reason that relationship status can’t be changed again

Well he's on a 5 year deal so will command quite a high loan fee so profitable either way.

His best move would be to drop the agent. His comments are way out of line and not conducive to getting Vydra a place on the pitch.

Matej Vydra is in limbo ahead of transfer deadline day
    AUG 30, 2015BY KEVIN AFFLECK1,397 VIEWS5
Matej Vydra will not ask to leave Watford despite being denied chance to make his club Premier League bow for a fourth time yesterday.

The Czech international striker is desperate to be given a shot at playing in the top flight of English football with the Hornets but his fate now rests in the hands of Gino Pozzo. The owner is yet to inform Vydra’s representative whether he is prepared to sanction his move away from Vicarage Road after Quique Sanchez Flores has, by leaving him on the bench three times and out of the squad altogether in the other, made it abundantly clear he does not feature in his immediate plans.

Amid interest from half-a-dozen Championship clubs, two teams in the Bundesliga and one in Turkey, Vydra’s agent, Ondrej Chovanec, has flown into London and is in Watford for the final two days of the transfer window. Pozzo is an expert negotiator and is likely to use the number of takers as leverage to drive up a loan fee and secure the best possible deal for the 23-year-old who has scored 36 goals in the Championship and one who won the league’s player of the year title in 2012/13.

Pozzo will only sanction a deal once a suitable replacement is found, leaving Vydra in limbo. The salary awarded to the striker in the five-year-contract he signed in the summer could only realistically be met by the more ambitious clubs in the Championship, including those, like Hull City, who have the parachute payment money as part of their spending power. If Vydra is allowed to leave, a loan deal, with an option to make the deal permanent, is set to be the most likely outcome. It will, we are told, be a wrench for Vydra to leave Vicarage Road, especially after he recently purchased a house in the area.

Let's hope Snr Flores sees sense and includes him in his plans.

If Charlie Austin leaves I am sure the Steptoes will stick a bid in - and as he is settled in the area...

"Sunderland hope to push through a permanent swoop for striker Fabio Borini after agreeing a deal totalling £10million with Liverpool.

It is understood that with an offer of £8million plus £2million in add-ons having been accepted by the Reds, Borini was on Wearside on Monday for a medical with a four-year deal on the table.

It is understood Sunderland are one of four clubs to have made an offer for the 24-year-old Italian, with Fiorentina, Inter Milan and Watford each having come in with lower bids"

I wonder how this will affect things?
