This will probably only be off interest to certain people. Match day. Are you a stand up, sit down person. Do you sing or chant and join in. Have you indeed started the above? Do you stay to the end? Drinks or food inside the ground anyone? What's the people around you like? Basically your match day experience. Metths and hiag may as well leave this thread alone
Stand - yes Chant - yes Started a chant - yes Stay - yes Drinks - at half time. I get in the ground 5 mins before KO. Food - very, very rarely, may buy a pie if steaming drunk People around me - great laugh, mainly mates plus family close by, also sit with a large group of Belgians that travel from Ghent for every home game, crazy dedication, found out they’ll only be two rows behind me at the new stadium as well.
I did ask them a couple years back, sure they just said they were part of a Spurs supporters club and then came for a game years ago and couldn’t get enough. Though I do tend to drink a bit on matchdays so can’t fully remember if there was more of a back story too it.
A lot off clubs have connection. Even my club ****ty little Sunderland has a load off dutch followers. No idea why
Sit and stand depending on the crowd around me and what's going on in the game. Sing of course. I don't drink as I'll be driving, and I eat after the game.
Its weird how that works, there are lots of clubs that are really well supported in the most random of places. For instance Chelsea are big in the US, Man Utd and Liverpool are both big in Asia, Arsenal are big in Africa, and Spurs are big in Tottenham, I hear.
Stand - yes Chant - yes Sing - yes Stay to the end - always. It's easier to wait 30 mins after the game and then leave, rather than try and get out with the hordes. Food - I take a banana with me People - At Highbury I used to stand topside or middle North Bank which was the heart of that terrace. Great lads around me. Now days at Emirates though, (and I only go once or twice per season now) I usually end up sitting next to somebody who's either disinterested, on their phone or some Japanese tourists. On the old North Bank Terrace I used to start loads of songs. I'd always come home hoarse as **** from shouting at the top of my voice. I miss those old days, but consider myself lucky to a have been a part of that Terrace culture.
Stand and sing always away from home, won't stand/sing if on someone's ticket in a different part of the ground at home. Song starting yes, mainly away though as it's easier for one and I get too pissed off with our fans. Generally speaking l always stay to the end regardless but have left a few minutes early twice in the last couple of season, wouldn't away though. Never drink at St Marys as it's ****e and impossible to drink a pint at ht without missing any of the game. Manage it away sometimes and also like getting there half hour or so before ko and having a couple and a sing song in the concourse. Food depends on if I've done any gear or not. People around me different every game. Be interesting to see how (or if) these habits change without drinking. Good thread Comm
Last game I went to I sat down...then stood up ..then leaned on the Pillar. Sometimes I have sung sometimes I have thought **** it...can't be arsed. Always stay to the end...I don't leave the pictures early or a concert etc...so makes no sense to me to pay for something then leave early I mix life up a bit
We’ve had to knock it on the head, gutted mate. Some couldn’t get the time off work and others have only had their STs for a short while so were relying on a fella we know to apply for them but he’s decided on going with his mates now so there were no spares. Only one or two of us could’ve likely gone out of about seven, so just decided not to apply.
Are you a stand up, sit down person. In a family based area so stay sat. I'd rather stand at games. Do you sing or chant and join in. Sometimes, it's a fairly quiet area though Have you indeed started the above? Not where I go now. At United, yes. Do you stay to the end? Yes. Drinks or food inside the ground anyone? Yes, boys always want a drink, sometimes but definitely not always they have a burger or something. I have a half time drink, depends on circumstances. Sometimes a pint, sometimes a tea, sometimes a gravy. What's the people around you like? A bit sweary now to be honest, last season was better. There also an irritating bloke who thinks every tackle is a foul and every foul should be a card. He's a twat.
I know, just from being on the their board during match days that all they give a **** about is yellow cards, its pathetic. "That should have been a yellow", "How was he not booked".....jesus ****ing christ,
I remember those guys from way back .They had a number of of season tickets between a bunch of them ant they used to come by coach. It wasn’t the always the same people but they all got to about 90% ofthe games. They slowly managed to get most of STs together and they were very loud. Great guys
Yeah that's them. The ones I speak too are generally there every week, although they always have about 3 or 4 different guys that are with them but there's many scattered across the ground and like you say, all jump on a coach over. To think I moan about getting a couple of trains to Wembley
I stand when I can but I do need to sit down for bit. Sing definitely, but I think many of those around me wouldn’t call it that. Usually have drink or two before but not half time. Never have food in the ground. I used to fly in on the day of the match, but had some really close calls with delays especially as I change planes in Madrid, which doubles the possibility. Now I come the day before and get a hotel near Heathrow and meet old friends for a proper beer. Having the games at Wembley was not a problem for me. Got to see some matches that I could not dream of at WHL Chavs. Woolwich And Manure as opposed to Thursday nights to see obscure teams from Eastern Europe.. Looking forward to CL games now
