Interesting that Loza, Hooper and Grabban are all starting. Presumably Lafferty and Becchio will play together in the second half. Strange about Bassong!

Is it bad that im a bit annoyed we haven't scored in 35mins against Dereham? I know its a friendly but youd think a professional team could put a few past a bunch of plumbers in that time lol.

    Ah well

It means nothing. Dereham will be playing out of their skins, Norwich will be viewing this as a training exercise almost.

I know it means nothing. Not good that we havent managed a goal against them in 45mins though. Im not having a big moan or owt, just think we should be able to score against part timers lol. Most of our players were Premier League last season! :-D

According to Twitter, City have had 8 shots to Dereham's 1. That may give some sort of idea. It's only a first run-out, ffs!

Does it really mean nothing though! It means that after some training and squad time we still can not score in 45 minutes against amateurs. Were we not writing off preseason last year as irrelevant when we couldn't score for toffee. And look at how representative that was for the whole season!
I want to add I'm not pant wetting or in any state of desolation after 45minutes of preseason, but to say it means nothing constantly I'm less convinced of, so if we are still unoch like in our shooting shyness god forbid by August it may well be a fairly justifiable portent of coming doom!

    Bah!

River we had 30 odd shots vs Cardiff last year and didnt score. Its like Mellchett said, im not pant wetting or anything like that. Just disappointed that we havent been able to put one past some part timers in a full 45mins. It is only a training match and our first preseason etc but surely its not unreasonable to expect a very convincing win? Maybe im wrong.

I can see your point General, but consider the fact that it is the first time Hooper, Grabban, Loza, Bennett and Surman have ever played in a game together. That isn't going to instantly gel into a shed load of goals. Disappointing, perhaps, but also understandable under the circumstances. I seem to recall that City were beaten 1-0 in the Dereham match under Lambert.

From Twitter: "Big striker swivels onto a far post knockdown, unmarked, lashes volley home close range. 0-1". (The knockdown was from Turner)

Too true, this is why the calibre of opposition gets better the longer we get through pre-season. It's their fisrt competitive action since early May and it's also, as rick points out, a new-look line up who clearly need game time to gel togrther <ok>
