MANCHESTER UNITED V/S HULL FC 3.00 pm Barclays Premier League Venue: Old Trafford Date: Saturday, 29 November TEAM NEWS Manchester United Defender Jonny Evans played for the reserves this week but is unlikely to face Hull. Fellow defender Marcus Rojo has returned to training but will also remain on the sidelines with Luke Shaw, Phil Jones, Rafael and Daley Blind. Hull Hull forward Abel Hernandez will miss the trip to United in order to be at the birth of his child in Uruguay. The suspended Gaston Ramirez is the only other absentee for Hull, who have no injury concerns. MATCH PREVIEW It was interesting to listen to Ryan Giggs this week talking to BBC Radio 5 live about the similarities between Louis van Gaal and Sir Alex Ferguson in terms of intensity and preparation, and how Van Gaal demands the same sort of intensity in training as in a game. "He sets standards and if you drop below them he is not happy," Giggs said. I don't doubt that for one minute, but he'll have been happy enough to have seen his injury-hit team win at Arsenal last week with an inexperienced three-man backline. They still have a long injury list but opponents Hull are in a real rut at the moment. Robin van Persie knows how they must be feeling. His recent form has been indifferent too and last weekend he had only 13 touches of the ball against his former club Arsenal. He f**ing needs to have a rest now! That's the fewest of any Manchester United player to have been on the pitch for at least 75 minutes in a single match in over a decade, and the fewest by any player in the Premier League this season. He's scored only three goals for the club so far in the current campaign and Radamel Falcao's imminent return from injury looks timely. Steve Bruce heads back to Old Trafford with a Hull team who've managed only one win in the 11 games since their victory over QPR on the opening day of the season. Long may that run continue. Nothing against Brucie but I'll continue supporting Hull AFTER the match. They started well enough at home to Tottenham last weekend with an early goal from Jake Livermore, only for Gaston Ramirez to get a daft red card. Tottenham's eventual 2-1 win was hardly a surprise. Let's hope they don't bounce back hard. A victory this weekend would be Hull's first over Manchester United for 40 years, when both clubs were in the old Second Division in November 1974. Hell will break loose if that happens. United's first away win of the season last weekend moved them into the top four for the first time this season. Fingers crossed they'll stay there after this weekend's games. Come on United!! #nojinxhopefully fingers xed
Rojo and Falcao in squad! From the Mail: Radamel Falcao is ready to boost Manchester United’s firepower by returning from injury against Hull City at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Colombia striker’s fitness has been in question since he joined United on loan from Monaco in the summer and he has not played for five weeks because of a calf injury. But manager Louis van Gaal revealed that Falcao is set to return to the squad this weekend, and Marcos Rojo may also be included after recovering from the dislocated shoulder he suffered in the Manchester derby at the start of this month.
I'm glad Falcao is back for the game tomorrow, because on form, he's one of the best strikers in the world.
He is better then any striker you have now though thats not hard without Suarez the rest of your strikers are cack.
Is that a poor memory, or like most mousers do you know nothing about football beyond English shores? 2009-2011 goal every 1.24 games for club 2011-2013 goal every 1.30 games for club 2013-1014 goal every 1,82 games for club 2014-2015 ?? So, your memory fades out before May of this year (six months ago)? Any player that has averaged one goal every 1.45 games for his clubs over a five year period is hard to forget if you have heard about him at all.
That's in the pipeline one more game with Balotelli stropping around the field like a big girl and we're doing a swap.
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Smalling, Carrick, Rojo, Valencia, Fellaini, Mata, Di Maria, Young; Rooney, Van Persie. Hull XI: McGregor, Chester, Dawson, Davies, Elmohamady, Livermore, Diame, Ben Arfa, Robertson, Brady, Jelavic.
