A matchday thread created (lastminute.com), to debate the performance of a certain Mr R V Wolfswinkel in his last 'big' game for Sporting before his move to the Canaries in the summer.

Benfica are certain to be crowned Portuguese Champions so Sporting will want to give their fans a little comfort with a victory tonight against their great rivals.

    Go Rickaaay !!

Anyone know how Sporting are lining up? Looks like a lone striker but I'm curious about the midfield. I missed the first few minutes.

Feels like I'm talking to myself ATM, but watching this is like watching a game from the 70's, tackles flying in, no whistle, brilliant <ok>

Yeah, the ref is hardly keeping them on a tight leash, lots of tackles flying in. Not a lot of chances though.

Our boy just had a pop from distance and found row Z. Well at least he tries I guess!

2-0 now, Sporting were getting back into it but that's killed it.

A very limited view of him, but his control from one of the throw-ins and then through ball showed how good his touch is and he obviously has a bit of vision. It was also good to see that he could play back to goal, but his touch was good enough to be able to about turn and get a shot away. Wn a clever free kick from Luisao as well.

But as above, not much of a display unfortunately

Sounds like he'll be prepared for the so-called toughest league in the world then. Perhaps they're just referring to Suarez's teeth?

I watched most of the match and it was a bit like City at Old Trafford, but there were some glimpses of what RvW can do, even when he is alone against 3 or 4 defenders up front. Still very optimistic about him. <ok>
