Just seen on the official site that we have a new deal with 442 sports marketing for them to produce our match day program (see link below). Just wondered, does anyone every get the programs? I have such happy memories of going as a kid and buying the program, sitting and reading it before kick off and then sticking the poster from the centre page on my wall. Is it still worth buying or is it basically a glorified advertising booklet? http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/030713-new-programme-deal-892268.aspx
I always buy the programme Dave. Not because it is a particularly good read, it is more a habit. You go the football, you buy the programme. You leave your house, you put your shoes on, that type of thing. Some of the articles are cringe worthy but others can be good. If we win, I tend to read the programme. If we lose, it gets thrown in the pile. I have hundreds of programmes if anybody wants them. No charge, of course. Maybe we can have a programme exchange at one of our meet ups this season. If I was you, overseas and a long way from LR, I would have a programme subscription.
Sorry Dave, I just realised you are in Paris so not so far. I thought you were the Dave in Melbourne. Sorry buddy.
Not quite Melbourne, but still far enough! Do you think there would be much in the match day programme that would make it worth the cost over what you can already read on the official site/other news sources?
It's a matter of personal opinion and choice. My personal choice is to always buy it. If you want, I can send you one or two programmes and you can decide for yourself. If you want, PM me your address and I will send them to you.
The programme has gotten a lot better since it went to the smaller size but its still a bit boring in my opinion. If you have access to the Internet then you have probably read everything that'll be in there already. But it's well presented these days and I was quite proud that we had that first ever 3D programme, even though it wasn't that useful to have it. I have no idea what this new company will be like but I also don't particularly care. But Tony usually picks good contractors.
