    Evening lads!

    As i'm sure you are aware, my team (Liverpool) play your team (Q.P.R) in the Premier League tomorrow. Due to cross-board threads being temporarily disabled, I cannot cross-board the match thread I have done for our game.

    If you pop over to the Liverpool board and look for the thread entitled The Official Not606 Match Thread: Queens Park Rangers Vs Liverpool. (Premier League), you will have found the match thread I have done.

    We had some good match chat and banter when our sides met in December and it would be a shame if this wasn't to happen for tomorrow's game.

    So, do pop over to the Liverpool board and get involved in the match chat!

    <cheers>

    Why are cross threads disabled? That's most of the fun on this site! Except for us this season :emoticon-0181-fubar :emoticon-0183-swear :emoticon-0181-fubar

    Because they're difficult to moderate. For example, the match thread he's talking about on the Liverpool board. If he made it a cross board thread then only the Liverpool board moderators could delete it or remove any offensive posts. The QPR moderators would be powerless on it, and would have to ask either a Liverpool mod or the site admin to remove the thread/post.

    On most forums that's not a problem because it's just a bit of banter that goes too far so it doesn't matter if it's there for a while. The problem comes when for example the General Chat forum users know the mods can't do anything, so start doing things like posting abusive cross board threads about Hillsbrough onto the Liverpool board like I believe happened last week.

    The Liverpool board wasn't the first one this kind of thing had happened on, and the site admin have been working on making it so that both sets of moderators can moderate cross board threads. When they applied the update it broke other things on the site that they weren't expecting so they had to go back to the old setup and just disable the cross board option. (admin are not full time on this site, it's a private thing for them outside of work)

    Once they've worked out what's causing things to break they'll apply the update and restore the cross board threads. The plus side to it is the site runs a lot more quickly with the option disabled (so long as Tulisa isn't making videos).

    EDIT:

    Here's the Liverpool match thread he was talking about

    We're overdue some good fortune, lets have some goals go in off Cisse's backside - and all their attempts hit the woodwork
