Both teams go into the match following a win at the weekend. The Lion's recent form has been fast-improving and as free-scoring as Watford's has been erratic (albeit not helped by some shocking officiating). A win for either side will see a healthy jump up the Championship table. It should be a good game. A warm(ish) welcome back is extended to Danny ****tu, Darius Henderson, Jack Smith and all round top bloke Kenny Jackett. Current Form Watford last 3 home games 2-1 (Leicester) 1-0 (Peterborough) 1-2 (Middlesborough) Millwall last 3 away games 1-4 (Nottingham Forest) 2-2 (Crystal Palace) 1-1 (Bristol City) Recent Clashes In the corresponding fixture last season, Watford came from behind to run out winners after goals from Dickinson and Forsyth (I'd like to have seen the Paddy Power odds on those two scoring in the same game). Watford also took the spoils at the New Den with goals from Deeney and a Garner rarity. I will not go as far back to mention September 2010. Injuries and Suspensions Watford may not have Fitz Hall available after he went off injured at the weekend. John Eustace remains in the treatment room after his operation on a back imbalance. Quotes from the Weekend From the Met Office The weather forecast for the evening in West Watford is a distinctly chilly 5 degrees with a light Westerly wind. No chance of rain though. Prediction If the occasionally shakey Watford defence can snuff out the threat and elbows that is Darius Henderson - I'll go for a score draw. Enjoy the game.
If we can beat Leicester, we should be able to beat Millwall. There's got to be a gulf between these two clubs' spending power/salary scales. 3-1 to the Golden Boys (a classic Hornette prediction
Cheers Saxet !! cinco estrellas !! I can only think that our good form will comtinue...fingers crossed !!
I presume Nosworthy isn't fit otherwise he'd be an ideal replacement if Hall isn't fit. Not sure who would come in otherwise with 2 other defenders injured. Tricky game but we've done well against Millwall and whilst they won't be complacent like Leciester we have the quality to open them up.
If we can put 4 passed Huddersfield and Forest in consecutive games surely we should be hammering Wopford as there's got to be a gulf between them and these two clubs' spending power/salary scales. Wopford 1 Millwall 4
we have scored 4 goals in each of our last 2 games, but i cant see that happening again so im going Watford 0 Millwall 5
I have no problems with Millwall, despite what some people say. They are 7 games unbeaten, this will be a tough test tomorrow. We are both locked in the league; 14 Millwall 14 2 19 15 Watford 14 -3 19 Their top 3 scorers have 19 goals between them of 27 scored. If we can keep them quiet we are in with a shout. I still rate Henderson, a robust striker with ability too, let's hope he has a bad game tomorrow. I hope Hall is fit.
I do love it when people come on here and say because we beat A or B, then Watford should be easy. The Championship every week throws up results that are unlikely to say the least, which is what makes the league so much fun.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...I_m_delighted_with_the_way_we_are_defending_/ Zola thinks we are getting better at the back though...
"We have to get three points tomorrow, or our season is over." Not my view, but did read it on an alternative Watford forum. I cannot believe that anyone thinks this.
Aaaah - the old friendly racist club and its fans come to West Herts again. I suspect you are neither "Lovely" nor a real Geezer. Incidentally it's "past" not "passed" - but then I wouldn't expect you to know that.
OFH, I think the comment from TC was in response to A1, and as such is reasonable. Having said that there were similar types of comments from Leicester fans, which pleases me. It means we are going off people's radar.
Fitz Hall is doubtful and I would be surprised if he plays. Seeing as Millwall have some big physical men in their side, we might finish up with big Chris at centre half.
I wasn't really putting down Millwall it was more bigging up Leicester. I work surrounded by Foxes and as such probably know more about Leicester than any club other than Watford. Since the Thai owners took over and Sven came and went, they've spent big on transfers and wages - some of which have worked, some haven't. My point really was that if we can put in a performance against a strong Leicester side (who'll probably be there or thereabouts at the end of the season) that some reports said was the best passing football they'd seen at Vicarage Road for ten years, then we should be able to beat Millwall with a similar performance.
One word Horn which separates us from the crisp boys - 'spirit' which we have it in abundance which no amount of money can buy You should know that with Kenny as our boss
i can't see Fitz Hall being fit, so without him and Nos, i'm guessing we'll have Thompson and Hoban...should be interesting! Oh, unless Ekstrand is fit...hmm, either way, i think we're going to struggle at the back against a physical side...and this will be a huge test for us. Still, with Fessi and Deeney, and Vydra and Abdi, they're going to struggle too, so..it could either be a very even game, or..more likely, it'll finish 3-1 Thanks Saxet, great thread
