Last week Waford equalled the previous seasons points total and will use this game to pass that. Middlesbrough travel south looking for three points which might take them to the play off games. The game has the added interest for both groups, if Middlesbrough win they might get to the play-off matches and if Watford can stop them former Hornets manager will go to the play-offs. WATFORD ⢠The Manager â Sean Dyche please log in to view this image âThe high number of youngsters being handed professional contracts is an ongoing trend from our club. We believe in it and I personally believe in it with my background. They are only at the beginning and we will now see how they develop in the future.â âWe have had a good turnout from our academy system yet again and we will see if they can go to the next level and get into the first team. It is not about numbers, we do it on quality of players and not just that, also the quality of their development because not many are the real deal at this young age.â ⢠The Hornets With a fit squad Sean Dyche only has to chose who plays and who does not. Stephen McGinn must still be regarded as only player who will not play even if he is named in the squad. Carl Dickinson is finish the season as the naughtiest of the Hornets with 10 cautions. I'm sure his team will be giving every ounce they've got to try to beat Cardiff City. There are some nice little twists there but we just have to get our job done and see what happens.â âIt was amazing to see the stadium alive and the noise and atmosphere generated, it shows only a winning team can do that and our job is to provide them with one, and we haven't done that enough this year. It was great for the players to find that extra bit and even that might not be enough. But let's see what next week brings. We know what we have to do, we have to go to Watford and win. It keeps it alive for us. We've got 90 minutes to win a football match to see where it takes us.â ⢠The Boro Matthew Bates will miss the game with his cruciate ligament injury but Justin Hoyte has recovered from a muscle problem and may be called to the team. Update on the Boroâs latest statistics Goal Gallery - Southampton please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Nick Bailey and Merouane Zemmama - too much for Southampton Who will win? Current form For a team attepting to enter the play off seats Middlesbroughâs recent form has been very bad. Two wins and one draw in the last five matches and four draws in the five before that. Although one of their wins was against Southampton. The goals reckoning is not much better with eight goals scored in the last ten matches and 12 lost. Watfordâs goal scoring is a little better with 12 goals scored and conceded. They have done better in results four wins and five draws in the last ten. A series of results that pulled the club away from the relegation worry to a position where the play offs were possible, if only with some bad results for other teams Akureyri's Prediction: 1-1 Watford will attempt to end the season unbeaten in five matches but with a lot resting on the outcome Middlesbrough will give hard opposition. A draw will not be enough for the visitors but neither will it wrap up a good season for Watford with a win. skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget The Hornets Nest II. Ak, excellent as always, these will be sadly missed only hope the next person is as half as good as you Really looking forward to this shame I won't be there It's going to be a hard one to call but if we get the first one we could go on to claim all three points! U'Orns
Amazing thread as always AK. You have done a wonderful job again this season. These really help build the excitement and improve the away game experience. They will be hugely missed. As for this game, dont forget it is a 12:30 KO. I am looking forward to a great atmosphere att he ground and hopefully a sea of yellow glinting in the sun. I really hope we can close out the season unbeaten. It would be perfect!
Will be a sad day - three and a half months before the next match in our winning streak. On the bright side, Stephen McGinn is rumoured to be making a long-awaited comeback appearance.
There has been some speculation that I have read, despite being in contract talks it is not at all certain that Tiny will want to sign.
Thanks for this Ak, fab thread as ever, and yes, they will be sadly missed. I just hope someone volunteers to take them over (for a year ) As for the match, it should be a great atmosphere, and a good game...we'll be playing to keep the unbeaten run, and to give the home fans something to cheer for the end of the season, they'll be playing for a playoff place. Good stuff ahead! Can't wait I should be singing in synagogue in the morning, but nothing would get in the way of this match! lol 3-1 for me, a home win...it's gotta happen sometime! lol
The only situation I think he might not stay is if Mariappa does, as on this season's form he would be third choice.
Great stuff as ever AK and my usual 5*'s have been applied - will be greatly missed, but I understand. I will also go for a 3-1 home win at what should be a great day out at The Vic...as was mentioned above, it's a shame the season has to finish just as we are getting it together. COYH
Thanks for all your hard work on this seasons MT`s Ak they will be missed . Signed out on another good one though Strangely I am not concerned about the result of this one ,as for us it doesnt matter, what concerns me is the performance ,hoping to get a glimpse of something we can build on for next season ! Hodson, whichelow , Britt etc and if MM doesnt get to the play offs ,well I would find that mildly amusing!
The irony Norway, is that Malky probably would have picked all of those players if he were managing this squad and we had only pride to play for. But in the event that Cardiff mess it up, I wouldn't bet against him moaning about our team selection. Whatever his future holds, I think Loach should play. If he's staying, we don't want him to have gone six months without a competitive game, doubly so if we still genuinely believe that he can get back to where he was a couple of years ago. If he's looking to leave, a good performance will hopefully give other clubs something to think about, and a bad one will hopefully make it easier for us to convince would be replacements that they'll get games here.
Excellent thread AK, and well done for all of the threads you have produced this season. I know how much time it can take to keep these threads going and you have done a brilliant job with each one. Whoever takes over is going to have a hard job to equalling your work. I think that it is going to be a great game on Saturday but the home advantage will definitely be the deciding factor. A final home win 2-0 for the hornets and a clean sheet to top it off. COYH!!!!!
If anyone makes threads next season they could be small. I do not think the information matters just somewhere to put comments. Like this. The Match Thread please log in to view this image please log in to view this image WATFORD -MIDDLESBROUGH Comment on the match here.
See i disagree, i think the info is what makes it interesting and sets it apart from all other MT's. The best we had was the Spurs thread, and that was simply copied and pasted history. There was no real effort other than to find the info. Yours are colourful and pleasing to the eye as well as being informative.
