    WATFORD v BRENTFORD

    SKY BET CHAMPIONSHIP
    Venue: Vicarage Road

All change again in the manager’s seat at Vicarage Road as Billy McKinlay takes charge of Watford for the first time after replacing Oscar Garcia.

Midfielder Almen Abdi (dead leg) is now fit but Gabriele Angella (ankle), Gabriel Tamas (knee), Troy Deeney (hamstring) and Keith Andrews (calf) are all unavailable.

Former Hornets keeper Richard Lee (shoulder) is absent for Brentford. Nico Yennaris (thigh) and Sam Saunders (knee) are close to full fitness but are not yet available for selection.

    Thanks for the thread :)

What was the score in the first match you attended? Might be a sign!

Should be interesting tomorrow, new coach and all.

1-1 Mex. I've got the programme in front of me. My favourite bit is the following:

    Homely Lodgings Required
for young 16-18 year old players
    Please reply to: Mr G.Taylor

    Looks like there may be a stream for the game;

Will be interesting to see how McKinlay sets the team out. Will he go for the tried and tested 3-5-2 or stick with the 4 at the back? Can't see the team changing too much from the weekend, although hope Fessi starts ahead of Ighalo.

Must be a good start for Billy McKinlay and a home win.

My only real memory of Brentford is a vague recollection of Nigel Gibbs scoring a beauty in a 2-0 win during one of our seasons in Div2, maybe 1996-97. The old memory is going so it might not have been Gibbs and it might not have been Brentford but there you go.

my recollection of being at Brentford is a loss (i think!) of a cup game a few years ago. The chips were yummy! lol. Best way to judge a ground is by it's chips, obviously. Good atmosphere if i remember rightly. Looking forward to going back but hopefully to do the double! Will be an interesting night and i don't expect too much as we don't seem to play well for new managers, so much as i would love to go for a 3-1...oh sod it...3-1! ;)....

    Great thread Bloother, thanks :)

Òscar Garcia was the first manager/coach since Gianluca Vialli not to hafa played Lloyd Doyley, if even he was chosen for the match squad for Charlton Athletic.

Guess Hoban will come in for Angella...

Seems like we gain a key player but lost one at the same time!

BTW Vialli gave Doyley his debut I think?

My memory of my only trip to Brentford - back in the 1970s - a friend's dad took us in his hippy style campervan - and at some point in the game a ball was hit into the crowd and smashed him right on the head , breaking his glasses - shameful to say we all found it hilarious and we won 3-0 to boot.

Brentford have just come up but are doing well. If we want to go up we need to beat newly promoted teams, especially at home.
