QPR v WATFORD. We need a win to keep any slim chance of the play-offs alive. Team news from ESPN, QPR will be without Benoit Assou-Ekotto when they host Watford. The full-back serves a one-match ban after he was sent off during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at leaders Leicester. With one eye on the play-offs boss Harry Redknapp rested the likes of Richard Dunne, Tom Carroll, Ravel Morrison and top scorer Charlie Austin against the Foxes so they could all return.Redknapp will check the fitness of Clint Hill (ankle) and Joey Barton (thigh) while Kevin Doyle (knee) should be available but Jermaine Jenas (hamstring) is set to miss out again. Watford central defender Marco Cassetti will return to contention following suspension. The Italian has served a two-game ban after reaching 10 yellow cards for the season and hopes to feature, but Park Chu-Young (toe) remains sidelined. Cristian Battocchio and Lloyd Doyley returned to the squad for Saturday's home win against Ipswich following respective knee and ankle injuries. Battocchio, who stepped off the bench for the final 10 minutes, and Doyley, an unused substitute, are both pushing for recalls to the starting line-up as the Hornets, unbeaten in six, bid to keep their outside play-off hopes alive. Comments welcome Enjoy the game! COYH COYH COYH
Really looking forward to spoiling the QPR play offs push ... note play offs not promotion which apparently was a bang on certainty at the start of the season
Its interesting that the 3 teams immediately above us are all away but the next three are at home with Ipswich playing Bournemouth and Reading and Brighton playing teams much lower down. A win for us could be very good indeed. I reckon 6-0 to us.
Even though our home record is pretty good I doubt there's a team less up for it and therefore the perfect opposition. Away win for me.
But you will score two goals after 87 minutes so it will only be an away win if we are leading by 3 at that stage.
If we do nothing else this season we have to beat QPR at their own ground .... I remember all too well the last game of the season a couple of seasons ago with 'Colin' taunting the home fans ...
Sounds like there may be some changes to the starting 11 tomorrow. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/11160364.AUDIO__Tozser_is_Watford_s_only_guaranteed_starter/
i think he will drop Riera and Abdi...or maybe they'll be on the bench and much as i like Renegie he was dismal on Saturday so hoping to see Forestieri back in the starting line up. Deeney will want to score having missed out on Saturday. Looking forward to this one and it could go either way, but QPR are fumbling somewhat, and if we can get well ahead, we may be able to not worry about last minute goals! 3-1 Watford (obviously). It certainly would be nice to see an away win for a change! Thanks for the thread Mex
Just leaving to get the beer train down to Oil Drum Lane and hopefully shut the Steptoe's up....still they will have a real local Derby next season, what with Brentford getting promoted!
The implication by saying the starting XI is that even Almunia is not guaranteed - does that mean that either Bond or Woods will be playing?
