Attendance 14.366 View attachment 8197 The Hornets are voyaging northwards again. This time is the furthest distance they have to travel. The Middlesbrough team provides the opposition and should provide a good test. Middlesbrough • The Manager – Tony Mowbray “We can’t keep dropping points by not winning games and hope to stay where we are, we have to win football matches to maintain our position. We didn’t drop too far at the weekend and yet things really tightened up around us, there are a lot of teams on the same number of points.” “We’re looking for a positive reaction from Southampton and if we can get a positive result against Doncaster and the same again against Watford, we’ll have six points from two games going into the international break and we can put the disappointment of Saturday behind us.” • Boro Jason Steele Tony McMahon, Matthew Bates (c), Rhys Williams, Joseph Bennett Barry Robson - caution 84 mÃn.., Nick Bailey, Stephen McManus, Faris Haroun for Merouane Zemmama - 59 mÃn. Marvin Emnes, Bartholomew Ogbeche for Scott McDonald - goal 41 mÃn - 69 mÃn. Substitutes: Bartholomew Ogbeche, Julio Arca, Malaury Martin, Richard Smallwood, Faris Haroun Update on Boro’s statistics Watford • The Manager – Sean Dyche View attachment 8200 about Troy Deeney “I am delighted for Troy because he works very hard for us and often fills a number of positions and sometimes comes out of the team when it is a hard decision.” about the Brighton match “First half I thought we were very good tactically and pretty decent with the play and had enough chances to at least score one. Second half they had a bit of play, like we thought they might because they have some good players but I thought we limited them to play in the back area of the pitch” • The Hornets Scott Loach Craig Forsyth for Lee Hodson - 90+1 mÃn., Nyron Nosworthy, Adrian Mariappa (c), Carl Dickinson Mark Yeates, Jonathan Hogg - caution 90+4 mÃn., Ross Jenkins for Prince Buaben - 83 mÃn., Troy Deeney Craig Beattie for Chris Iwelumo - 65 mÃn., Marvin Sordell Substitutes: Rene Gilmartin (GK), David Mirfin, Ross Jenkins, Craig Forsyth, Craig Beattie Update on the Hornet's latest statistics Who will win? Current form With two wins in two games Watford are now a form team, but they can always mess that up. Having learned not to let as many goals in as they score they must be extra careful against Middlesbrough as they are very difficult to score goals against and Watford are not the most prolific scorers this year. The bad thing is Middlesbrough win but not by many. Akureyri's Prediction: 1:1 A result that will not help Middlesbrough’s push for promotion but one that will keep Watford moving in the upward direction. skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget The Hornet’s Nest Drop in for some match chat. Sticking my neck out here 4-1 to the Golden Boys, I have this feeling that we will put on a show for the cameras Excellent thread as always Ak
Nicely done AK. I have to predict that the tv cameras will work their magic again and we can pull a win out of the bag. If we continue the improvement from the last two games we should do more than hold our own!!
Got to be better than the last televised effort( that was painful to the extreme) However I think Boro will have too much for us! Home win 2-0
Another good one Ak, thank you . I'm going for a 1-3 because i would...it's on the telly, we're improving every week, and i think we might just fox Middlesbrough a bit. Having watched our season, they definitely won't know what to expect! lol
Hopefully better fare than the Forest game but I too think Boro' will have too much for us. Our play still needs to sharpen up and I cannot see the Boro' defence being as generous as Peterborough or Brighton (even though we didn't take advantage). Heart says 2-2, betting head says 3-0.
Sorry, but I am going for a 2-1 home win - cannot see us getting anything up there. Great stuff as usual AK
I just hope we do get something tomorrow - I had enough stick off my WHU supporting colleague, don't want it off my AD as well. Thankfully my colleague who supports Forest is in the other building.
I'm predicting a continuation of form for Watford and an entertaining 2-4 win for the travelling Hornets. COYH!!!
A 0-2 win for the traveling Hornets, I feel it in my bones. Now the younger players don't have Tiny, John and Lloyd they seem to be doing a bit better and Prince is a steadying influence in mid-field. Now watch them go and bugger it up.
Zen - I hope you are right as I travelling down to this one from Newcastle and will have to take some pre match stick in the Star before the game. I worked in Boro for 3 years so will be hoping more than most that we don't lose otherwise I will be getting plenty of reminders for the next few weeks. I also have a sneeky feeling that we might get a result tomorrow - Boro are not playing with that much consistency and they have drawn most of their home games. I just hope Scott MacDonald is not playing as he is on a long no scoring run and he netted against us last season. The Boro fans I have spoken to are not that impressed with their home form
I haven't got a Watford prediction right this year so I'll say we get thumped 5-0 In truth I'd bite yer hand off for a point. Jack and Jill Went up the hill And planned to do some kissing. Jack made a pass And grabbed her ass Now his two front teeth are missing. those who met me at Southampton will get the relevance of that!
One of my work colleagues supports Middlesbrough, I told him that I would be happy will a boring 0-0.
Welcome on board Wessex. Let's hope your first prediction is a good one or better!! Lately we have a 2-0 record against teams supported by friends and ex's. Let's hope it's magic number 3.
