Time some of this tactical brilliance showed itself Rafa. So far it's been like a needle in a haystack.
What on earth has the fat one got in mind to amuse us this game???
My thoughts, useless as they may be, are these.
Man City are convinced they are a great team. They attack well and defend poorly. They are big sods, and difficult for our midgets to push around.
But our midgets are elusive. So my plan would be based on speed and more speed. Run at them, around them ,lob over them. Keep turning them around, just like they do in Rugby.
I'd leave out Terry, way too slow and only passes sideways or backwards, I'd put Brana at right back and play Obi and Azi as CDs'. They are both quick and astute and couldn't be worse than Cahill, who has turned in to a passable imitation of a log.
My midfield would be Lamps and Luiz. I'd not start with Ramires, but use him after 60 mins. Oscar, Hazard, Mata are shoe ins, and Moses my second sub.
Would love to see 4 3 3, but won't. Torres would be watching at home on Sky, and Ba starting.
So there's a bit to be going on with, and a perfect reason why I will never get a job as a manager. Eat your heart out Jose, who needs you ?????

One things for sure CP,whatever side he puts out, if he returns home with 3 points from this one, I have a feeling there will be a fair few more converts to the FSW fan club!

We definitely need Lampard and Luiz in this one, Moses I'm still not convinced about so I'd leave him on the bench (preferably sitting on Torres's head so he can't move anywhere near the pitch) Ramires is probably knackered after last night, Oscar, Mata , and Hazard speak for themselves. JT would give us the leadership as always so I would keep him in as I think other teams are always a little wary when he is playing, they know what a big part he plays.

Blue, I would never convert to that Fan club I have no faith in him at all. One of the goals we scored last week (I can't remember which) RA was clearly pleased about and showed it, yet Benitez didn't even have a smile, no emotion at all, almost looked like he was manager of the opposition by the look on his face.

It's probably a few Liverpool fans who are still convinced it was only bad luck that stopped them dominating World football with him in charge and a few rival fans who think FSW has been a great laugh at Chelsea.

I think we will get something here. If we go there and attack then I don't see why we can't get something. We saw how Liverpool should have got 3 points... can be done. And a win would take us only a point behind City!

    Cech - Azpillicueta - Luiz - Terry - Cole - Mikel - Lampard - Mata - Hazard - Oscar - Ba.

Considering its not the time for experimenting with formations that's what I'd play.

I think it will be Cahill and Brana in the middle. Rafa pretty much said he was resting Brana for the game so he'll feature somewhere.

I can't see how we realistically would play a RB and a defensive midfielder both at CB when we are playing away at the Champions and have 4 fit centre backs to choose from. Can you imagine if Rafa did that and we lost - he'd get roasted by us fans, and rightly so!! Ballsy move though CP!!

I'd pick a team with a lot of energy, height and strength. Love the idea of Lamps and Luiz in the middle. Both great on the ball but also strong and wont give an inch to the City midfield.

I'd be tempted with Ramieres on the right as he has the industry to get up and down and help out at both ends as inevitably we wont have the lion's share of possession. Hazard left and Mata middle with Ba up front. Ivan Cahill Terry and Cole at the back maybe?

    Who'd be a manager??

    31 Boruc
    02 Clyne
    03 Yoshida
    05 Hooiveld
    13 Fox (Richardson - 71' )
    04 Schneiderlin
    08 S Davis (Ward-Prowse - 80' )
    18 Cork
    42 Puncheon (Lallana - 61' )
    07 Lambert Booked
    09 Rodriguez

I'd play that team and you might get a 3-1 victory out of it... :bandit:

Come on Varier, you're getting to be as conservative as the fat one !!!!!! Time to shake things up. How about Torres in goal and Cech as striker????

    I'd go

    Cech

    Azpi - Iva - Terry - Cole
    Lampard - Luiz
    Hazard - Oscar - Mata
    Ba

They don't really play with any width so i feel we could go into it with that team. If we sit back we'll lose but if we go at them we have half a chance.

Life is really **** for us at the moment, FSW in charge, hoping he does one, then wanting us to win games. Double edged sword methinks, so i really hope we win on Sunday, I also hope we lose. Roman sort it ffs. Going off the rails here. Mental breakdown imminent.

I suspect the winner of Sundays match will go on to finish second.
A Chelsea win would get them within a point of us and with difficult away trips at Everton,Utd,Spurs & Swansea to come I feel we'd be there for the taking so creating an 7 point gap is essential to give us the breathing space we may need

Mancini simply has to get his tactics right, which hopefully means Tevez & Aguero starting with Nasri nowhere to be seen
Kompany should be back which will be crucial if we are to keep prolific goal machine nando quiet

    Hart
    Zabaleta Kompany Nastasic Clichy
    Milner Yaya Barry
    Tevez Silva
    Aguero
