HUDDERSFIELD TOWN V WATFORD FC Watford travel t'up north to newly promoted Huddersfield, who are making this league look easy with a string of impressive results. Zola's Watford, on the other hand, are struggling to get results despite some decent performances. Here is some news from their official site about the match. This is a top v bottom of the table clash but most might not have predicted this come the start of the season, going on previous fixtures this game should provide at least a couple of goals: Latest Head-to-Head Results Latest Head-to-Head Results for Huddersfield Town vs Watford Date Competition Home Res Away Info 23.12.2000 English Division One Watford 1-2 Huddersfield Town 12.08.2000 English Division One Huddersfield Town 1-2 Watford 16.02.1999 English Division One Watford 1-1 Huddersfield Town 08.09.1998 English Division One Huddersfield Town 2-0 Watford 13.01.1996 English Division One Watford 0-1 Huddersfield Town 19.08.1995 English Division One Huddersfield Town 1-0 Watford 25.10.1983 English League Cup Watford 2-2 Huddersfield Town (3-4) 04.10.1983 English League Cup Huddersfield Town 2-1 Watford 14.03.1978 English Division Four (old) Huddersfield Town 1-0 Watford 10.09.1977 English Division Four (old) Watford 2-0 Huddersfield Town (all from www.statto.com) MANAGER'S QUOTES: ZOLA - "But it's early days, we will improve that and once we do that it is going to be a very good team, " after Watofrd's 2-2 draw with Bristol City. GRAYSON - calls 3-1 victory againts Blackpool the “best result of the season so far.” I'd take a point but fear we might not even get that. ENJOY THE GAME !!
Nice thread Mex - going to be a tough one after their excellent result against the whingers boys. Ever the optimist, I'm going for a 2-2 draw. Looking forward to visiting a new ground..
Hopefully I will see you there then. As for the result, I hope for a win, but I don't think we will get 1. our defence is too weak and they will be too strong and over run us. *
Watford will come good but suffer WPS again. We will return homewith a point though 1-1. WPS = Watford Penalty Syndrome
Hmm, i would love to be able to feel positive about this game, but i have a feeling we're going to get mullered. However, in my usual way, i'm going for a Watford win...1-3 of course. I just hope we put up a good fight, and get all we can out of this game. We are improving every week..someone has to give us 3 points at some point..so if it's not this game, it'll be Tuesday
Guys..........how important is this game for us? Would another loss send real jitters down the spine of the club. Would GFZ be looking over his shoulder, not just at the owners but perhaps at the supporters. A lot of Watford supporters outside this site can be quite negative, how will another loss impact on them? Thoughts
the longer it takes to get three points, the more jittery the fans will get. Fans are notoriously impatient. But, i don't think many people would expect much from this game, so hopefully the fans will show more patience. As for the club, i think Zola is safe from club jitters for a little while longer. If we're still struggling at Christmas, things might be different.
A lot of those negative ones were also jittery this time last year, and were no doubt trumpeting 'Dyche out' as loudly and as frequently as they could. So, if they can't learn the lesson in such a short time, how it will impact on them is of little concern to me.
Four changes to #watfordfc line-up. Fitz Hall & home-grown Tommie Hoban both come in 4 1st Hornets start. Deeney & Hogg also in start XI.
i think this is good news..though Fitz Hall is slower than Iwelumo! But i'm feeling very positive now ...COYH!!!!
Hornets starting XI: Almunia; Hoban, Hall, Neuton; Cassetti, Hogg, Chalobah, Abdi; Pudil; Deeney. Forestieri. Subs: Bond (GK), Iwelumo, Forsyth, Doyley, Murray, Smith.
