The Match Thread ESPN have a thread here and the BBC here DONCASTER ROVERS 0 v 0 WATFORD Habib Beye - caution 55 mÃn. Attendance: 8.389 with 739 Hornets and Norway. Another Saturday, another trip to the north and another game that could be a problem. The Hornets meet a Rovers team that has become a window to get some older players a better job. Doncaster Rovers • The Manager – Dean Saunders “You’ve not got to be frightened to lose. “The players will be up for it and I want to win. We want to send our fans home happy.” • Rovers Carl Ikeme Habib Beye - caution 55 mÃn., Herita Nkongolo Ilunga, Sam Hird, James O'Connor Kyle Bennett for Herold Goulon - 70 mÃn., James Hayter for Brian Stock - 84 mÃn., Simon Gillett, Giles Barnes for El-Hadji Diouf 61 mÃn. Marc-Antoine Fortune, Billy Sharp Substitutes: Neil Sullivan (gk), Mustapha Dumbuya, Giles Barnes, James Hayter and Kyle Bennett . Update on Rovers’ statistics Watford • The Manager – Sean Dyche “For me as a young manager we have had a really interesting couple of weeks, Obviously we had a game [against Middlesbrough] that we felt we deserved something out of and unfortunately the officials maybe cost us that one. And in the international break we had a really nice, open Fans’ Forum which I really enjoyed and maybe dispelled a few myths or gave a few things for people to think about.” “That was good and the fans play a big part in what we do here and they get their rewards. Sometimes they are hard to come by but I think three wins at home gives them belief that I suggested was there [among the players] all along.” • The Hornets .Scott Loach Lee Hodson, Nyron Nosworthy, Adrian Mariappa, Carl Dickinson, Mark Yeates,John Eustace (c), Prince Buaben, Michael Kightly, Troy Deeney for Chris Iwelumo - 77 mÃn., Craig Beattie for Marvin Sordell - 37 mÃn. Substitutes: Jack Bonhan (gk), David Mirfin, Ross Jenkins, Troy Deeney and Craig Beattie Update on the Hornet's latest statistics Who will win? For the Hornets to meet a team playing worse than they are, which really means nothing but makes a change. Doncaster’s only recent success was a 2-3 win at Ipswich and they nearly managed to throw that away. Akureyri's Prediction: 0:1 The Rovers’ home form is slightly better than Watford’s away .form so things point to a home success. The Watford team on the other hand is playing well and have a settled team which may count against the locals who have a lot of new footballers. skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget The Hornet’s Nest Drop in for some match chat. Nicely done as always AK. I am hoping for a WFC win more than ever as one of my old teachers is a huge Donny fan and we always have a bit of banter. I think we will win by 1 goal.
If your defence isn't solid you will be punished. Sharp, Diouf, Fortune front row will make sure your goalkeeper has plenty to do. I'm going for a 3-1 win to Donny. Good Luck for the rest of the season apart from the reverse fixture.
Well done Ak, another great thread...but don't scare me about Steve McGinn! lol Definitely a Watford win, with a strong back four and a midfield that now communicate, we're able to beat anyone, especially a team that's struggling as we were
I predict a MASSIVE away win. 6-1. So far, every prediction I have made has been a massive Watford win. One day, i'll be close. Last season, against Millwall, I predicted 0-0. Since that day, I have vowed never to predict a dull scoreline. Thinking about it, maybe I should be predicting 0-0?
I'm hoping for 1-3 for the hornets. I just feel that the team is finally settling and beginning to hit form. COYH!!!!
I'm really glad you guys are optomistic I still feel we are slow and predictable although less so since the enforced changes due to injuries. The back 4 are very solid now (Noseworthy has been excellent) and Hodson, whilst always being good going forward, has improved his defensive skills so I'm confident we won't ship many goals now unless the midfield go missing. SD is likely to consider this is a game we can't lose which means he will set up defensivly from the start which I think would be a mistake. I predict a low score draw or 0-0 although I've been even more negative in our prediction league in the hope I will be proved wrong!
We have been chatting about the line up for this game on the Short news thread but this answers our questions about Hogg as well as the BBC website: http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/534553725?-276
