After an impressive away win against league 1 favourites Sheffield United, Bristol City will be looking to win 2 league games on the bounce as they host Colchester United, a team who the bookies favour for relegation. Cup exits in the week for both sides as City lost at home 2-1 to Oxford and Colchester being thumped 4-0 by Charlton both sides will want to put things right. Colchester could be without Magnus Okuonghae as he picked up a red in the League Cup match on Tuesday night but boss Joe Dunne is set to appeal the decision. Bristol City have no new injury worries now Karleigh Osborne is back and he successfully completed 90 minutes against Oxford.

    What They Are Saying

Peter Beagrie on Bristol City's chances for promotion this season

"I think City’s chances will remain very good if they keep hold of talismanic striker Sam Baldock. Sam and Aaron Wilbraham know each other’s games inside out from their time at MK Dons, so Steve Cotterill will be hoping he is not forced to sell his prized asset. Your manager, has recruited well, identifying players who can excel in his preferred system of 3-5-2. As we saw in the victory at Sheffield United, Mark Little is a brilliant wing-back, the experienced Wade Elliott is always composed and never embarrassed in possession in central midfield, and defensive midfielder Korey Smith’s athleticism allows Luke Freeman to float behind the two strikers and get strikes off his cultured left peg. As for the new purple and green – colours more likely to be found in Garry Birtles’ wardrobe than in mine – it’s off to a winning start, but I will reserve judgment until the summer tans have worn off!"

    Last Time We Met

City threw away a two-goal lead on their first visit to the Weston Homes Community Stadium as Colchester United struck twice in the space of seven second-half minutes to claim an unlikely point

Maybe only change in starting 11 for me from last week is Bryant for Cunningham, Cunningham did look a little lost playing in front of Williams, I think Bryant might be a more natural fit there.
