Hopefully thiswill be a little more rewarding for the visitors than the last visit. BRISTOL CITY • The Manager – Derek McInnes please log in to view this image “We've got a clean sheet and a point on the road but technically the performance was off what everyone's shown in the last couple of games, but the work rate and determination not to lose was there, which I'll take any day of the week. The team gave their all for the club.” “The game was a bit too open for my liking in the second half. We rode our luck at times but also created opportunities ourselves, and the support gave us great backing today.” • The Robins Bristol have the happy situation of listing no players suspended and only Lewin Nyatanga with an ankle injury. please log in to view this image Nick Maynard the Ashton Gate clubs top scorer Tonights teamDavid James - own goal 15 mÃn. It was a 'huff and puff' type of game, during the first half we were just 'off' it, not as good or bright as we have been, then for the second half there was a good reaction.” “Coventry had some breakaways of their own, which were more down to us not doing our jobs properly, but overall it's another point on the board and continues our good run of form. We know we can play better than that, overall, but the second half was better so I'm pleased.” And on the new boy. “Britt's come a long way and he's developing and learning. We deliberately didn't name the team because we wanted him to relax. He did okay - there's more to come from young Britt.” • The Hornets A worry is Adrian Mariappa who is reported to have suffered an ankle injury in the game against Coventry City, if you can not beat them kick them, and also Alexander Kacaniklic was removed on Saturday because of an injury. He joins Stephen McGinn who is still recovering from his knee injury. Dale Bennett has to make his return after being knocked-out in the West Ham game and Ross Jenkins and Gavin Massey are not featuring after their injury and health problem. Three good results with one where a win would have been a better outcome and one which the team should have wone easily.Six goals scored and four conceded looks quite good. Bristol City have lost two and won one match of the last four. Four goals for and seven against does not look good. With the only win being 3:2 against Leicester City at Ashton Gate. Akureyri's Prediction: 2-1 After disappointing both sets of supporters with both teams playing goalless draws on Saturday the home advantage will be the advantage the Robins want in their fight for surviving. skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget The Hornets’ Nest II Drop in for some match chat. Nice one AK - 5 *'s as ever. Difficult game, but i expect a bit of a reaction from us after saturday (and a good kick up the jacksy from SD) - I will go for a 2-2 draw.
On Saturday I was confident would be a free-flowing, high-scoring draw. I'm just as confident that this will be 0-0.
Revenge will be ours, as long as Mapps watches where he puts his back passes. 2-0 to the Golden Boys.
great thread as ever Ak ..thank you. I wish i was going to this one, but as i'm not, i'll hopefully be joining everyone here on the bustling match thread! I wonder if Red will pop in . I will be with one of my now two academy pupils til 7, (yay ) so i might be a bit late...hopefully not! My prediction is obvious...1-3 ...the Golden Boys will pick their game up after Saturday and will be unstoppable except for a wee lapse of concentration at the back
Yeah he is back at Colchester HH. He came back to get some time with the 1st team but was injured for a lot of it and has gone back now. Great thread AK. I think this will be an interesting match, we will be out for vengeance, but they will be out to prove they are improving.
TOP THREAD AK ! ALWAYS DONE WITH STYLE. Going to be a scrap as Bristol City are fighting for survival. I hope SD has given some players a light roasting after a draw against Coventry. My prediction, who ever scores the most goals will win. So far all my predictions have been off so at least I might get this one right ! COYH !! YELLOWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!
Bummer - my son is in his school's Rotary quiz team tomorrow night - looks like regular peeks at twitter for me
nice thread mate.. watford have done well to pull away from the drop zone.. seems like your home forms been the key factor too
We've only lost to one team lower than us in the table this season, and that's Forest at home way back in the season. There is Portsmouth too but....at the time they were above us and doing well. We have done well against the lower half of the table, I really can't see us losing this. Even if we don't play to our best, we usually match the other team, mistakes is mostly what has cost us. It's what got Bristol their point at the Vic......so hopefully we can cut that out tomorrow. No more sliced clearances from Nosworthy please
i love that Bristol City fans think that now Marvin has gone, they're likely to get points from us..they don't realise that losing him didn't harm us, and in lots of ways it did us favours.. Ha!
no, he doesn't seem to be saying much on their match thread. Such a shame another club has a match thread and we're not going to share the match together
David James to do his old club some favours ? Anyone got an old playstation game to send him "to practice" before tomorrow's game?
Not the best of news from the Wobby. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9599700.Mariappa_and_Kacaniklic_doubts_for_Bristol_City/
That is a big worry. I mentioned on the BC match thread that there were 3 players who were key to us Kacaniklic was one, Deeney and Muzza were the others. I wonder how we will cope with out our strongest attacking outlet and our best defender. However, i do worry more about Kacaniklic. Taylor is a good replacement for Mapps, but i dont particularly rate Alex's replacements.
