I'm heading over from Belfast for the Middlesborough match this weekend with my brother. We get into Southampton airport at about 9am then in the past we've just gone on the beer as soon as we check in to the Premier Inn near St. Mary's. This trip we talked about trying to meet up with a group of fans to add to the experience a bit. We usually just do our own thing but I was thinking it would be good to go to a supporters club before the match. I don't know the city that well because I'm not from there, I know my way around but I'm not sure where the best places to drink before the match are. Any advice on this would be appreciated Jas
I don't either sorry. There should really be a not 606 gathering at a pub somewhere that would be a good idea.
Hey! I'm actually headed to this match too! How about we meet up...at your house, the evening before our horribly early flight out of Belfast City Airport airport pints in abundence!
good lord, me and joey b there will be endless bickers of harding v fox, bart v kelvin that will transpire into a mass brawl like on Pirates of the Caribbean with the drunk piratres
Any of the pubs below Bar in the High Street are good. Also try The Joiners in St Marys Street, The Plume of Feathers by Kingsland Market, and The Eagle by Hoglands Park. There's a pub on Brittania Rd very near the ground which used to be called The LeTissier Feet, but has since been renamed, not sure what it's called now but it's always rammed on matchdays. sorry i can't offer more help, but I've lived in london for 30 years and only go back on match days.
Lots of guys from the echo saints forum talk about meeting at the Station at Bitterne before games, bit of a walk from there to SMS, but it sounds like they are a welcomeing bunch.
