Well Steve you put your faith in players who repaid you by bottling it. You then compounded it by making the wrong subs. I would have humiliated Hudd by bringing him off after 25 minutes, he deserved it. Disgraceful, You and Phelan were bollocking him during the first half constantly, did he man up and change the game? Did he ****. Livermore was a disaster. Injured? Possibly. But he passed a fitness test. No heart no commitment. No ****ing bottle when he pretended he thought Quinny was neare rot that breaking bal on the edge of the box. Quinn showed how a CM who tries to make things happen plays when you moved him into the middle. Meyler should have played. FACT. We should have ditched 3 at the back after 10 minutes, there was no need. Burnley looked and played like a Championship team. But to take Macca off was ridiculous. All you had to do was move him to RB and push Elmo into Rm. Because lets face it our whole game plan is give the ball to Elmo. It may have been a bit easier on him. Removing Macca was a waste of a sub. FACT. By playing Jake you wasted a sub. Meyler from the start and then you could have put Robbo on and Abel and Jelavic. To bring Jelavic on and then push N'Doye onto the left wing was ****ing ridiculous. Our two main goal threats need to be together and near the ****ing goal. Stood on the left wing helpless and left peg less was insane. I say bring Abel on but really, WTF, ambled around and didnt give a ****. Jelavic is clearly not fit. As i say Steve, you ****ed up the selection, did your heart rule your head? cos i wish it had and you might have played Alex who would have shown up some of these ****s today. Lastly Tom Huddlestone. You're a big man but you have the heart the size of a pea. I'll never be upset about getting beaten if my team has had a good go. That was pathetic. No heart no desire no passion.
You could see it coming with Huddlestone, also he gave the ball away yet again and nearly cost us another goal which really would have finished us good and proper. I was told on here he had to play today as his passing would be too much for Burnley to handle but the clear fact is he is not a player you want in a relegation scrap, he hasn't got the balls
Don't sit on the fence. Thing is, Bruce has been guilty of committing these atrocities in 3 out of every 4 games all season, it seems people are only beginning to open their eyes. He's a **** manager when all' said and done. Bruce out?
Your post is absolutely spot on. People seem to have changed their opinion on Mr. Meyler now that they realise he shows a bit of passion!
Pundits and managers always say how lesser sides in the PL can't risk playing 4-4-2 because it's 3 against 2 in the middle. Bruce obviously believes in that too. Burnley played 4-4-2 today and we had the extra man in midfield. Didn't make **** all difference though did it? I really didn't want to find myself turning on Bruce, this season was always gonna be difficult, but he's done such a poor job in assembling this year's squad. There's no balance, there was never a transfer policy just a load of good players who don't fit together and who've been used really poorly.
I agree with you that he shouldn't take EVERY corner - corners for right footers also taken by him were atrocious. But his FKs were so nearly spot on
Agree with most of that Chazz. Though I did think Abel looked fairly busy. There was just **** all distribution to our forwards. I want me money back on the Bruce banner.
And yet I still hear people say 'Steve Bruce is the best manager we have ever had, we can't get rid of him'. But that's the same as me saying 'this 22 inch TV I have is the best TV I've ever had!' But the reality is its not the best TV I can get! Clueless tactics all season have put us in this position and the simple facts are, Any other manager with his record since January 14 wouldn't still be in a job
I dont know how i missed Aluko off my initial post. You're **** **** off. Why Steve why. He's ****ing ****. He twist he turns he falls over and he's 40 yards from goal. He's never anywhere near the box. If he is he runs backwards, pretty much like the rest of the team. Before we "slowly" work it back and forth before ending up with Elmo who curls it into a box populated by one of ours and two huge centre backs and two full backs.
Yes Bruce is not faultness but we lost today because our players didn't turn up. Possibly with the exception of Danny Ings, every single one of our players would walk into that Burnley team. George Boyd was struggling to get on our bench for ****s sake. It can't be just the Managers fault when we put in a **** performance, and all down to the players efforts when we win a game. Apart from N'Doye late in the second half, there were no square pegs in round holes.
We beat Liverpool last week. And that was good. We just can't match a solid team that doesn't try and create and leave space. We play better when we have teams that push up the pitch and leave gaps. We just don't have the skill or reliability in players. It's not passion, it's talent. Lack of talent. I don't blame the effort today, just the inability to hold the ball, or play a pass with a positive outcome. How many passes went behind a player and stalled the flow? We had too many championship players. We miss Diame, Ramirez, a fit Jelly, and a modified that can play.
