Chelsea well and truly laid to rest the hoodoo of never beating Spurs at Wembley in a cup game with a massive 5-1 hammering in this evening's F.A.Cup semi-final. In a tentative first quarter it was Spurs who started to take control as the interval neared and twice came close to taking the lead. The enigmatic Drogba had other idea's. With his back towards goal and being tightly marked by Gallas, Drogba received a long ball from the legend John Terry. Drogba's first touch was sublime as he flicked the the ball wide past Gallas's weaker right side and unleashed a stunning drive high into the roof of the net past ex-Chelsea goalie Carlo Cudicini. Four minutes into the second half saw controversy as referee Martin Atkinson award Chelsea a second goal after John Terry inadvertently kept out Juan Mata’s goal bound shot. The ball clearly didn't cross the line and the goal was a bonus for Chelsea. The incident clearly inspired Spurs to find another gear which saw Bale tap in to an empty net after Adebayor had been fouled by Petr Cech. Spurs, seeking to press Chelsea for an equalising goal left gaping voids in midfield and defence which Chelsea punished relentlessly stretching the Spurs defence. Chelsea's third came curtesey of Ramires who lifted the ball over the on-rushing goalie after a fantastic through ball by MoTM Mata. Lampard netted the fourth with a sublime free kick from 30 yards into the corner of the Spurs net. Malouda escaped the Spurs defence in injury-time to add a simple fifth and complete the rout in what was a comprehensive victory.
I will add my match report too: Spuds are an awful side and got the thrashing that their poor play deserved.
To be honest if you dont play drogba midweek then I would not be happy as a chelsea fan. Then we can face torress instread which would make me happy
to be fair it didn't sound like a hammering where you thrashed them the whole way through, it sounded as if they had the edge of the play for the first half then drogba got a great goal at half time, then the ghost goal which they replied to well...then they collapsed. Just like man u did against man city where it so easily could have been 2/3-1 but their collapse at the end made it 6 ps EMPTY SEATS lololol
You have an 18k stadium and you had empty seats against the club you hate most you horrible pikey ****
Spuds always have "the upper hand". They are famous for being the best side in the world and "outplaying" sides and losing. In reality they r just crap and believe their own hype. Man united are the best for it. After every game when united destroy spuds fergie says what a good side they are. This keeps the spud delusion there and allows united and the other big clubs like chelsea and arsenal to take advanatge of them time and time again. Spuds = the only side in the world who can "dominate" games they lose 5-1, 5-2 and 3-0
Not in the league that argument is **** because it's already been proved we can sell out against you and would again in the league i can excuse you though cos i believe you attended that match and can understand you're probably still scarred
Mate if you have been to loftus road you would know half the seats are in places you cant even see and the rest have such small seats that if you are next to a fat person then you are basically shafted
No place like home And don't listen to his lies, we sold out v them in the league and have in 95% of our matches this season, which isn't bad for a club fighting relegation and a couple of miles away from, ahem, slightly, more, 'established' premier league clubs don't quote me on that
That's bollocks Bokky and you know it. The reason your on here is because your little club has no life on its board but please don't overstay your welcome bud
Drogba's opening goal was superb. Second goal shouldn't have been given, never crossed line (ironically kept out by Terry, who's expression at the moment shows he full well knew he'd kept it out) And Cech should have been red carded, got away with it because Bale scored, and the ref got distracted by Luiz's injury. I still think Chelsea would have won even if they had been down to ten men though, Spurs were awful. Chelsea do seem to be getting a lot of controvertial decisions go their way recently. Here's hoping that run of luck changes before Newcastle visit Stamford Bridge....
It might seem that way but we look at it as payback time for all the dodgy Platini referee's that have ****ed us in the champions league.
Either way, absolutely nothing is going to take away this amazing 5-1 victory from us blues . On top of the world
