Sorry so late but had to wait for my grandson to get off my machine and go to bed before I get to use my own computer. Bleddy kids.

Both sides kicked this one off not doing very much and not looking like doing a lot either. First 10 minutes rather aimless. Out of absolutely nothing Burton picked up ball on edge of our box and player turned and shot in one move. 1 - 0 down even if it was a bloody good finish. Slowly but surely Argyle came back into the game andd created several chances without troubling the keeper too much. On another day and with a bit of fortune Argyle might have at least gone in level at halftime but it was not to be.

Second half and Argyle generally started quite brightly. McCormick pulled off one decent save which was about all Burton had in efforts in the second half. The players seemed a bit slow to the ball at times and seldom won any second balls all afternoon. Young couldn't pass a ball for a while and one or two others did a bit of hoofing rather than passing. Having said that nearly every chance fell to Argyle. Reid should have had another hattrick and the new boy Lavery could have had a couple. I was quite impressed with Lavery's general play. Nice movement off the ball and he made some space for himself more than once. Today was the same old same old Argyle story. They just couldn't score even when it seemed harder not to. Burton wasted so much time I think the Ref could have put 20 minutes on the end and it would have been justified. But, they are clearly a well drilled side and everyone knows exactly what they are doing. By no means the best side down here but competent. We shouldn't be too despondent about today as long as the old sickness isn't here to last again.

MOM today.......not sure who I would give that to if honest. Nobody stood out.

    Thanks for the report Sensible.

I suppose we have gained a few points recently which we might not have fully deserved and even the Burton manager said "Today was really tough. You could say that at times, we didn't deserve to get the three points..

So now we're even. As they used to say, "it's a funny old game Brian".
