I'd have to agree with you, a very par performance overall imo.

Krul - 6 - Not much to do but made a mistake for the goal
Simpson - 7 - Needs to learn how to tackle rather than constantly backing off. Made some good runs though
Saylor - 7 - Still iffy defensively but did okay overall
Colo - 7 - Mistake for the goal but was solid bar that
Jose - 7 - Much better than of recent games
Barton - 8 - MOTM. Great vision and passes, was tireless - great link up play
Nolan - 7 - Got into good positions with his great runs but wasn't noticeable in the second half
    Tiote - 8 - Bossed the midfield
Jonas - 8 - Second best player, frightened B'Ham everytime he got the ball
Lova - 6 - Didn't do that much but worked hard
Shola - 5 - Bar the penalty and a few won headers, he did nout. Didnt hold it up, made very little runs.

Ranger - 7 - Looked dangerous in the time he had.

Krul - 5. Didn't look as confident as in his other games, almost gave away the second goal if it wasn't for Agent Larsson
Enrique - 7. One of his better performances in recent weeks, put in some decent tackles at the back. Maybe he's staying after all? ;)
Coloccini - 7. Unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions, looked decent at the back but weak in the air.
Taylor - 6. Apart from his goal, i didn't really notice him.
Simpson - 6. Some good deliveries put in, but he barely tackled anyone, and couldnt block any of the crosses in.
Barton - 7. Good deliveries, good movement throughout.
Nolan - 6. Better than at Blackpool and Liverpool, but he fluffed a few chances. Got into the right places though.
Tiote - 8. Bossed the midfield, as usual.
Gutierrez - 8. MOTM for me. One of the most creative players on our team, without a doubt. Made so many good runs and unlucky not to score on a few occasions.
Lovenkrands - 5. Virtually non existant.
Ameobi - 4.5. Why is he still on the pitch? scored a penalty, but didnt move after that, got outmuscled and outpaced by Carr almost every time.

Ranger - 6. Seemed a lot more eager to go and more energetic than last time. Definitely him over Ameobi next game.

    MOTM: Gutierrez.

krul 5 not much to do and when he did he flapped
simpson 6 his usual self few decent crosses nothing special
s taylor 7 got a good goal played well considering he hasn't played much
colloccini 5.5 little unlucky for the goal but could have read the original ball better
enrique 6 played alright could have used him more against 10 men
barton 6.5 wasn't special but put in a decent performance
nolan 7 decent headers but his shot were lacking but good defensively
tiote 6 good didnt play his best though and got a yellow albeit an unfortunate one.
gutierrez 7 played well decent shot closed down well by there defenders well though.
ameobi 6 got a goal should have scored again but unlucky.
lovenkrands 5 nothing special possibly could have scored as well.

    subs
ranger 6 good running should have passed to ameobi who was in a better position or shot earlier.

overall although it was a win we never really reached top gear and it didn't get much better when they got a man sent off. never really stretched them enough after it.
and Taylor would be my Newcastle man of the match. but foster for them was the one who kept them in the game.

Krul-6 - Didn't have to do much, but fluffed that catch.
Simpson -6 Did okay. Wish he could tackle.
Collo-6 - Did okay, but made that error.
Taylor-8 - Did okay defending, but got that key goal. The only one in normal play.
Jose-7 - Decent defending and play today. Much better than previous matches.
Barton-7 - Good play. Some good crossing.
    Tiote-7 - Bossed the midfield
Nolan-7 - Midfield play was okay, but he looked like a good attacking threat.
Jonas-8 - Ran tirelessly once again. Good play
Lover-3 - Apart from pace, he has **** all else. Crap
Shola-2.5 - He scored a penalty, but he made it obvious where he was going and on any other day the keeper would have saved that. Other than that, ****.

Krul 7 - Mainly solid although did look shakey at times(for example first goal & when Larsson missed a sitter).
Simpson 7 - Solid but unspectacular. That's really the definition of his quality IMO, throught the whole season aswell.
Saylor 7 - Solid display in general. Got a goal aswell. <ok>
Colo 7 - Not one of his best games. He got caught napping for Bowyer's goal & was uncomfortable with Jerome's pace. Although he did improve somewhat in the second.
Enrique 7 - Solid in general. Much improved performance from previous weeks(Blackpool/Liverpool).
Barton 9(MOTM) - Was brilliant in the first half with his through balls and range of passing, worked his socks off and was always available for the pass. Qualiy all-round display, but IMO he faded a bit in the second half.
Nolan 7 - Solid, although unspectacular. Assured performance in general. Although looked somewhat tired & gassed out by the 70th min mark. <ok>
Tiote 7 - Bossed the game in some periods in the second half with his passing & skill on the ball. Solid all-round display. Only blemish was the yellow card at the end.
Guti 8 - Second best performer today IMO. Looked a constant threat with his energy, dribbling & skill, especially in the first half, faded somewhat in the second.
Ameobi <doh> 5 - Apart from that pen, he was awfully average(as per).
Lovenkrands 6 - Average in general. Worked hard though(as per).

Ranger 6 - Gave good energy, pace and power when he came on. Looked lively in general.

In conclusion. We were very good in the first half but average in the second. Assured performance in total. <ok>

Krul-6 > not a lot to do, at fault for the goal
    Simpson-6 > not a lot to do.
Colo-7 > not great for the goal, but solid afterwards
Taylor-8 > took his goal well, solid in his first game back
Jose-7 > glimpses of his form earlier this year
Baton-8 > first half, some quality balls through. good distribution
    Tiote-8 > bossed the midfield
Nolan-7 > had his moments. could have easily scored if it wasnt for foster playing well. good ball for Lovenkrands effort in the first half
Jonas-8 > great running, troubled the defence, good outlet. Dont want him to leave in the summer.
    Lover-6 > did ok.
Shola-6 > apart from the penalty, was pretty crap.

Krul-7 : Nothing much too do but maybe shouldn't have come out for the goal
Simpson-6 : Was good going forward, sent some good crosses in their box but for some reason he doesn't want to tackle
Collo-7 : Good match overall but was guilty for the Brum goal
Taylor-7 : Good match too but should stop elbowing/handballing
Jose-8 : Perfect match, nothing much to do, worked well with Guti
Barton-8 : After a bad patch, he seemed to have found his accuracy
Tiote-7 : Nice display overall but he could well break Savage's card record
Nolan-7 : Offered some options off the ball but if only he had the touch and vision of Barton ...
Jonas-8 (MoTM): Deserves MoTM, kept running for 90 mins and was our most dangerous player
Lover-6 : Quiet match, didn't do much but at least he looks as if he's trying
Shola-5 : Scored the penalty, but wasted some chances. He holds the ball up well but doesn't offer anything much to the team.

Ranger- 7 : IMO his best match so far. Looks like he has regained his balance and was unlucky not to get his goal

Pardew- 7: He got his tactics right for the game and now that we're safe think he should prepare for next season and bring in some new faces cos I'm fed up with Ameobi

    Krul - 5.5
Simpson - 6.5 - did well getting forward but needs to stop backing off so goddam far
Collo - 6 - despite the obvious incident played the ball well out of defence
Talyor - 6.5 - bit suspect defensively but great header for the goal
Jose - 6 - pretty average for me
Barton - 7 - would have been an 8 if his final ball was better, very competent performance otherwise
Tiote - 7.5 - bossed the middle as usual, stupid couple of fouls and the occasion turning into trouble blighted his copy book though
Nolan - 6.5 - better pressing than usual, didnt waste the ball when he had but nothing spectacular
Jonas - 8 - MOTM for me, was a constant threat
Lover - 6 - should have done more against a stretched backline with his pace but did put in a shift
Shola - 6.5 - denied by a header off the line, linked up the play well when he got the ball down and a few good flick-ons. ppl need to take their blinkers off, made some mistakes but then so did the mighty Tiote

Ranger - 7 - looked bright when he came on, showed Lover how to work a stretched defence although his decision making could have been better. think he works well with Ameobi up top, would like to see them start the last two games (although maybe go 5 man midfield against Chelsea with Ranger out on the right like in the League Cup)

Wow, a bit harsh on the strikers. Its obvious we need two decent strikers, but there weren't that bad today. Did you give them -5 against Liverpool.

Krul- 5 not 100% convincing for the brum goal and almost cost us the 3 points
Jose'- 8 Really good I thought best game for a few weeks
Collo- 6 one mistake (Decent recovery) and a lil unlucky to not get the overall block in
Taylor-9 Thought he played really well, won most in the air and a good goal
Simmo- 7 Decent, Could do a lil more with his own crosses and to stop others
Jonas- 8 Played well kept the ball very well still a lil lacking for an end product
Tiote- 8 (BOSSED) but was his own fault for the booking (dallying on the ball)
Nolan-7 great 1st half then tailed off
Barton 8- Good for 70 mins and as a midfield they took the sting out of the game
Lover- 5 hard working should have scored
Ameobi-5 Never gna be a hard worker but wins quite a bit in the air

    Ranger: 7 Looked dangerous

Krul - 6, Not alot to do, **** myself when he dropped that cross.
Simpson - 7, Defensively shaky at times but looked decent going forward at times and put in a few good crosses.
Colo - 6, Not one of his best games, silly mistake for the goal and Jerome won headers all day. Looked good on the ball though.
Taylor - 7.5, Solid defensively, and unlike Williamson he is a threat in the opposition box.
Enrique - 7, Solid display, nothing outstanding but better than recent weeks.
Barton - 7.5, Some of his passing in the first half was brilliant. Faded a bit in the second half but still worked hard.
Tiote - 8, Bossed the midfield, shame about another yellow at the end.
Nolan - 7, Worked hard and unlucky not to score, quiet at times but generally solid.
Jonas - 7.5, Troubled their defence constantly.
Lover - 5, Ran alot but found it hard to get involved, should've scored.
    Shola - 5, Didn't do much.

So. It's set then; when the day eventually arrives,
Krul's headstone will read "Not a lot to do"

Whoever said Shola couldn't keep up with Carr, neither could Jonas in most of the match.
