Focus on Pompey please log in to view this image Again Pompey's match was postponed so again I have nothing to put here.... Erm. Any requests? I dunno what would you like to see? Focus on Winchester City Flyers Reds please log in to view this image Well, aside from having a ridiculous name, where should we begin? Well, firstly Winchester City Flyers seem to have two teams, the 'Reds' and the 'Blacks'. The 'Reds' play in the Hampshire County Women's League Division 1 (the same as QK Southampton) while the 'Blacks' (who I presume are the reserve team) play in the Hampshire County Women's League Division 2. The club has apparently been in existence since 1996, making it a rather young even by women's football standards. They are currently 6th in the table, one place below QK Southampton after having won the 2nd Division last year while a reorganisation of the Hampshire County Women's League from 4 division to 3 saw Winchester City Flyers Blacks promoted to the 2nd division last year, despite only finishing second. Last Season in the Cup Portsmouth Made it to: Final - Winners Result: Portsmouth 2 - 1 Havant & Waterlooville Portsmouth scorers: Rutherford, Quinn Havant & Waterlooville scorer: Nkomo Winchester City Flyers Reds Made it to: Did not compete in the Hampshire Cup but did compete in the Hampshire Intermediate Cup, making it to semi-final where they lost 3-1 to Widbrook United. I think this may be the first season in the Hampshire Cup. Last Match Sunderland 7 - 0 Portsmouth @ The Hetton Centre Winchester City Flyers Reds 2 - 1 Winchester City @ The Garrison Ground This Season's Cup Run Portsmouth have played one game so far in the Hampshire cup, recieving a bye to the second round, where they defeated QK Southampton 15-0. Winchester City Flyers Reds started from the first round where they won due to a walkover against Horndean. This was followed by a 8-0 home victory over Christchurch in the second round. Elsewhere in the Cup Southampton Women have made it to the quarter finals as well and are playing Andover New Street in a home tie Don't forget to like Pompey on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/PortsmouthFCLadies
Wondered where this match was played. If it was played at the Den Plan it couldn't have been as as cold as last night when it got down to about mins 2 degrees. A good performance by WInch against the leagues top team but Hunderford ran out 2-0 winners.
Well, being a home game it'll presumably be played at Moneyfields, however the Express FM Grassroots Football Twitter page mentioned last week's League Cup game would be played at Dover Road. Where on earth is that?! I reckon that's just a mistake on the part of Express FM. Unlucky result for Winchester, I'm sure they'll bounce back! (losing 2-0 in -2 degrees on a Tuesday night, doesn't sound much fun)
Breaking news, the game has been postponed unsurprisingly. Seems to be a bit of a reoccurring theme in these last few threads
