    Information on tomorrow's opponents.

Colchester United are currently level on both points and goal difference with City in the Sky Bet League One table.

Joe Dunne’s side have won just two of their previous ten league outings. With one game in hand on some of the teams in and around the relegation zone, the U’s will be hoping to pull away from danger in the coming weeks.

However, Colchester’s two wins came in their previous four games. Freddie Sears and Gavin Massey helped the U’s secure a much-needed 2-1 victory over Coventry City.

Defeats to Bradford City and Crawley Town followed before Jabo Ibehre scored the only goal of the game against fellow strugglers Shrewsbury Town.
Tomorrow will be Colchester’s seventh game since the start of March, suggesting it may be a good time to travel to the Colchester Community Stadium for Steve Cotterill’s men.

    Key Man – Freddie Sears

Sears will be a familiar face to City fans after the striker’s ‘ghost goal’ for Crystal Palace in August 2009.

The 24-year-old began his career at West Ham United but struggled to cement a spot in the starting XI and subsequently went on loan to Palace, Coventry City, S****horpe United and Colchester before moving to Essex on a free transfer in July 2012.

Sears’ progress has been hampered by injury this season as he went nearly three months playing just 28 minutes of competitive football.

Despite the lengthy layoff, Sears remains a threat going forward and has scored six goals in 17 starts this campaign.

    Referee – Steve Rushton

Official from Staffordshire who was took charge of City in a 1-0 defeat at Barnsley in September 2012.

Rushton gave the Tykes’ Bobby Hassell a straight red card in the 52nd minute that day following an off the ball altercation with Jon Stead. Despite the Robins dominating much of the game, City couldn’t find an equaliser.

This season Rushton has overseen 19 matches, dishing out 37 yellow cards and four reds.
