Portsmouth travel to Barnet on Sunday hoping to end an unwelcome run, having lost their last two league games including a 7-2 hammering at Charlton. Focus on Pompey please log in to view this image Portsmouth's trip to Charlton was not a happy one, being on the wrong end of a 7-2 hammering. Portsmouth started well but Charlton scored twice in the first 25 minutes to give Portsmouth a mountain to climb. Charley Wilson scored in the 44th minute to give Portsmouth hope, but this was quickly extinguished as Charlton scored once again before half time. Half time score 3-1. The next goal came from Portsmouth to bring the score back to 3-2 and once again there was hope. Unfortunately, an awful 20 minutes saw Charlton score four times without reply, being finished off by Gemma Bryan's hat trick goal in the 80th minute. Well, Barnet are bottom with a goal difference of something like -11 after about 5 games. So basically, if we don't win this, we're screwed. Even though it's early days, I'd say this is pretty much a must win game. But realistically, I don't think we can aim for more than mid-table, I'd be happy with that I think. And hopefully a good FA Cup run, getting one of the London WSL teams away would be awesome (although we would get hammered)
I just realised you can view the table here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/tables. Just scroll down to the bottom of the list, select and click update.
Indeed. Good thing about being in the National Division is that the BBC include our results and table now. Though another good source I use a lot is this: http://fulltime.thefa.com/Index.do?league=872938 Has loads of stats and is where a lot of the info in the previews come from.....
Barnet scored in the 89th minute to deny Portsmouth a win. Not a great result really as this only Barnet's second point of the season and with recent results, it raises doubts about our ability to stay up. Still, I guess it's early days and thankfully only two teams go down. Plus, at least it ends our losing streak. What does everyone else think?
Cardiff at home. A week on Sunday! I think I might try to go to it possibly. Then my match preview can contain photos (maybe!)
