i got the pub with a few friends to eat lunch, watch the arsenal game that was on tv and have a few drinks. we found out half way through 2nd half of the gunners game that our game was called off. i had a call from the wife asking if i was coming home. i asked why and she explained the game was off. thought she was joking. checked on my phone and seen it off. well gutted we were. so we stayed and had a few more beers. i only got home about an hour ago.

club will lose a lot of money now for this game. wards 1st game back would of attracted fans to show up, time of the years would of attracted fans to show up, the cheap xmas offer as well would of attracted fans to show up. the re-arranged date will most likely be a evening game during the week of jan or feb. a lot of fans wont be able to attend the re-arranged game. refunds would need to be paid for those. big crowd expected so beer/pies/programmes would have gone down well. re-arranged fixture would not sale so as much. big lose today having this game postponed. would have given ward a chance to see the players play and not just train. would have helped him assess the team to help prepare him for the transfer window. bad news today.

wards 1st game will be a 6 pointer vs aldershot. massive game.

The postponement will give JW more time to sort out his team. Also although the game is a sixpointer isn't it more likely that we will pick up some points?

think it will be ok to be honest. pitch had held up very well this season with both gas and rugby playing on it. groundsman done a great job this season.

    I'm scratching around for positives.............
-Ward now has a little longer to assess players
-we edge towards the January window
-more time for aches and pains to clear up
-the weight of expectation at a home match might have been too much
    ......like I said, scratching around................

i think we would have lost yesterday. meaning a game wasted. but we now have this game still available and when the re-arrangement date comes ward may have his tactics up and running with new players in the door fighting for the club and may win the game which my opinion we wouldnt have done yesterday.

Also out of two of our next three games we have a realistic chance of getting something (Shots A & Plymouth H). If we get get results in these 2 games and even a draw at Chelts (yeah I know - clutching at straws again!!) then it will be a massive confidence booster for the whole club - team and fans alike! If we had played yesterday then in all honesty I think we would of lost .... however come the re-arranged fixture we might have a more confident settled side playing good football and scraping for their place - ohhhh - just like the old days!!! Merry Xmas everone!!!

that was obvious. rugby play their games in all weathers and conditions. the H&S is diiferent for that sport to football. also we kick the ball and if it dont move due to the rain then its not playable. rugby run with the ball so it is different.

Sorry I was only letting you know.

And believe it or not I was a junior rugby coach. My kids preferred it to football so I got talked into taking my badges to coach the local kids<ok>

Yep the biggest difference is Rugby players play a whole match pretending NOT to be hurt whilst football is the other way round <laugh>

But I prefer football over rugby any day, apart from international 6 nations probably the only time I become passionate about being Welsh the rest of the time I'm British <laugh>

ref postpones rovers vs rotherham game 3 hours before kick off. rotherham complains.

ref postpones city vs watford game today 15 mins after the kick off time should of taken place. wonder if watford will complain. hope not this **** happens with the weather. makes a mockery of rotherhams complaint as well.
