....oh dear. found this on another MB: Magnus Hedman releases his autobiography in Sweden today read a few articles/extracts - seems pretty hardcore stuff, He went through a MASSIVE depression after retiring; booze & drug binges, suicide attempts and all of that. Also, there's an interesting story about when he was on loan from Coventry at Ancona. He started a match towards the end of the season against Perugia, who needed to win to avoid the drop. He was pretty bewildered to see his defense just go missing and at the end of the first half the on-target shot count was 17-1 in Perugia's favour but the scoreline was still 0-0. He felt as though he was playing the game of his life and could NOT understand when at half time all of his team mates and his coach were, for some reason, absolutely furious with him. Jay Boothroyd, who he knew from Coventry, was playing for Perugia at the time and said to him "For f**k's sake man. Let one in at least" The game eventually ended 1-0 to Perugia and Hedman says that it wasn't until years later that he realised that the game must have been fixed. He says he can't be 100% sure and he has no real evidence but he is 99.999999% convinced.
On a related note, our own ex player Pellicori just got arrested for match fixing. Surely he can just show tapes of him running that slowly for us too and that proof he wasnt running slowly to lose games over there.
